Has your opinion stayed the same over time? What do you think about the integration of Broly's storyline and the way Toriyama-sensei expanded on things/tweaked his own story (Goku's past).

I rambled a lot at the end but to summarize for those who don't want to listen to it all: this is what I always wanted to see from Broly's character! I loved the one "side" of him a lot and wished the first movie had more time to delve into that... and this movie did it PERFECTLY!

about the changes regarding Goku's past... it took me a minute to mull it over, but it fits more in line with the "Superman" inspirations for his origins. Especially since I recently watched Man Of Steel and somehow this fit a little more into that kind of inspiration-framework.

Anyway. That didn't matter as much to me anyway as BROLY'S STORYLINE BEING "FIXED" (in my mind). 🥰🥰 AND THE VISUALS (and tone) BEING THE PERFECT BLEND OF DB AND DBZ STYLE FOR ME AHHHH!!! I loved it.

I said a lot more in the review rambles, but this is the main gist of it.

Oh, I guess one last thing. In the context of what I want from a DB(S) movie at this point. THIS IS IT for me so I rounded my rough 9.8 up to a 10 ✨ it's my highest score I've given to a DB movie and although yeah I miss some of my favorite characters not being in it, but the fact that it is canon and I was blown away by them doing Broly RIGHT (imo duh) I have to give it the highest score 🤭

I was talking A LOT and processing A LOT as it was all playing out, especially in the first half (that's just what my brain does) so I can't wait to rewatch it in the future and not need to process anything. I think honestly I was reeling about so much going on that it still hasn't fully sunk in that GOGETA. IS. CANON.

All in all, this is probably my favorite DB movie. I enjoyed almost every other movie ofc, and there were many great antagonists and fun fights. But this movie had that and more! It took it's time to develop a compelling story within the existing framework. I'd love to see more like this.

OOF okay that's enough fangirl ramblings for now... I was trying to keep it shorter 🤣 I'll rewatch it hopefully soon and if any thoughts or feelings change (or ENHANCE - more likely) I will let you know.
