THE LEGENDARY YU GI OHHHHHHH!!! I've only seen the DUB version of the show so the rewatch will be very different since the DUB version was very censored and edited for kids. T.his will be interesting

I had no idea that this show existed, I thought the one from the 2000's was the first one, so this is really cool and it was a fun watch. Really excited you started this!

Wow I’m so happy you are watching Yu-Gi-Oh now. This was one of my top 5 favorite shows when I was a kid. My cousins and I were obsessed with it back then

I found Yu-Gi-Oh through Dragon Ball abridged, through which I discovered Yu-Gi-Oh abridged, and after a few episodes I liked it enough to stop and watch the original from the begining. I remember seeing bits and pieces from it as a kid, but it was aired at saturday-sunday mornings in my country, and our only TV was locked down by my parents for that timeslot for an insanely boring political talk show - yaaay.

OMG! I'm so so so happy you decided not only to watch YGO in sub, but also to start with the 0 version! It's such a shame that not many people are aware of its existence despite being 100% canon, because it's so much fun and enjoyable, even if a bit dark at times (but yes, the people who told you the manga is even darker are right). It was such a shock to me as well finding out Jonouchi was a little mean to Yugi at the start, or that Yami Yugi was kind of a psycho, and can we talk about GREEN-HAIRED Kaiba? I never recovered from it XD But I believe it's great to experience the story this way, and I hope you'll enjoy the rest! Also fun fact: the first syllables of Yugi's and Jonouchi's japanese names when combined together spell the word "YuJou" which means "friendship", and I've always found it very fitting and cute!

The Japanese voice cast is different for the newer duel monsters version compare to this 1998 version , so the iconic voices are not here yet but this version voice cast did a great job

In the version we all know, there is a flashback of Jonouchi/Joey where scenes from the first episode of this version are repeated where he throws a puzzle piece into the water, and then retrieves it when Yugi defended them both from the same guy.

Vero chan

True, I remember it now! But it's in a flashback so I don't think it had the same impact as it did here where we see it happening while following Yugi in his journey... I know a few of people who only watched the series from the 2000 who were very surprised when I told them about Yugi and Jono's relationship at the beginning, so it's probably because of that experience that I think seeing also this version would allow people to have the full picture.
