That club scene has everyone distraught twitter and other social medias. Not gonna lie had me distraught as well, I did cry but I read the books so I knew it was coming but I didn't know it was going to be this devastating. The song they decided to play was perfect explained their situation really well. The thing with Shane is that he just doesn’t know he is gay yet. Its not really him denying it. He always was okay with the idea of liking guys but he just had a problem with it being Ilya at least just at the beginning. Shane thinks he just hasn’t met the right girl to click with yet. Keep in mind Shane has had girlfriend and has had sex with girls before. So when he met Rose and they automatically clicked, he thinks that he finally found that girl he has been looking for..a girl that he can finally connect with on that level.

Yep and the fact that Ilya kept saying Hollander after so that he could make up for it and get Shane to come back but Shane was just too freaked out about it.

I guess he’s at that point in his life where he’s not really sure about his sexuality yet. It probably hasn’t clicked yet that he’s just gay and not bisexual or anything. But yeah, exploring is not a bad idea. He has to experience things first before he gets to fully realize the answers to his identity.

that was...not as clear as in the book, I feel like :( especially Shane's "Ilya" got lost a little bit :( I felt it 100% because I knew it was there, but I also kept telling screen Ilya to spit in his hand, so I clearly had previous knowledge :D :D :D
