Backgrounds - The Chronicles of Santa (Patreon)

Hey team!

As you know by now, backgrounds are such an important part of the animation process. Not only for setting the scene and the atmosphere but all sorts of Easter eggs get hidden that you might not spot unless you’re really paying attention!

Here’s a little look into how we create the backgrounds.

For Santa’s living room from The Chronicles of Santa, we started, as most do at this point, with reference images, outlining the overall look that we wanted to create. Then the process goes through many levels of designing and refining until we hit exactly what we’re going for.

A lot of development goes into the creation of our backgrounds and we’re extremely lucky to have some incredibly talented artists working on them!
