Yuki Tsukumo. Even though Suzuki hadn't seen her before, he knew her well—the eccentric Special Grade jujutsu sorcerer. She was undeniably one of the most powerful, but he knew that, unlike the others, she rarely did her job, focusing entirely on her own ambitions instead.

Suzuki didn't have much interest in what those ambitions were; he had his own to worry about.

Still, he had to admit she looked great, especially with her toned body, refreshing smile, and that rare blonde hair. Not to mention, she was undeniably well-endowed and had a fantastic figure.

Then again, Maki's green hair was great too. But enough of that. Instead of focusing on Yuki's appearance, he needed to respect her strength. Reaching Special Grade—putting her on the same level as Gojo—was no small feat.

Special Grade. While the term was thrown around lightly by some, Suzuki knew only four people in the country could truly claim that title: Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, Yuta Okkotsu, and Yuki. Naturally, Suzuki possessed the power to be the fifth, but he was too lazy to officially claim the rank. Getting it meant meeting with the higher-ups, and whenever he saw them, he fought the overwhelming urge to beat the shit out of them.

He knew Yuki had a habit of asking people—especially men—what their type of woman was. He just hadn't expected her to drop the question on him so suddenly.

"Beautiful ones."

He might as well be honest. Frankly, his taste in women started and ended with beauty. The rest—body type, personality, or whatever else—didn't matter, as every beautiful woman had her own unique charm. It was like flowers. There were roughly 300,000 to 369,000 known species in the world; could anyone truly say one was objectively more beautiful than the rest?

Yuki just stared at him in silence.

"I'll talk with you later," Suzuki said. "I know you want to get into some deep, philosophical discussion, and that's going to take a while."

Suzuki turned his attention to the two figures sitting nearby. One was a young boy, whom he ignored, focusing instead on the older woman. She was clearly the leader of this duo and the one calling the shots.

Of course, it had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that she was also incredibly beautiful.

Unlike the cheerful, playful Yuki, this woman was mysterious and elegant, exuding the aura of a true professional. She was tall like Yuki, but her hair was a blue-tinted silver, tied in a unique style with braids framing her face.

"So, to what do I owe the pleasure of a visit from the famous Grade 1 Sorcerer, Mei Mei?" Suzuki asked as he sat down, genuinely curious about her angle.

Beside him, Maki stood at attention. She knew she could sit on his lap if she wanted to, but such an act was completely out of character for her. Besides, that kind of thing was better saved for private, not a room full of an audience. More importantly, with Yuki and Mei Mei—two dangerous, mature women—approaching him, she needed to stay alert. She had no idea what they were planning.

Suzuki glanced at Maki. Her expression was as stern as ever, radiating a dangerous aura that left him briefly speechless. Chuckling internally, he pushed the thought aside and looked back to Mei Mei.

While Yuki was elusive and spent her time wandering the country, Mei Mei was highly active on the job. This was especially true after Suzuki had taken over the patriarch position from his father by beating the shit out of anyone who opposed him. Since then, Mei Mei had worked frequently with the Zenin Clan.

A conversation with Yuki would just be a time-consuming philosophical debate, yielding no real benefits aside from looking at her pretty face. A talk with Mei Mei, on the other hand, felt like it would bring something highly profitable to the table.

"No, no, compared to the Young Lord of the Zenin Clan, I am nothing. Please don't flatter me," Mei Mei said smoothly. She took a deep breath, met his eyes for a moment, and then bowed her head. "Please let my little brother and me work directly under you."

Ui Ui, Mei Mei's little brother, immediately bowed his head as well.

"Hmm..."

Suzuki pondered why the duo would suddenly come asking for a job, but after a second of thought, the answer was obvious: money.

And he definitely had money. He was likely the wealthiest individual in the entire jujutsu world. Other sorcerers focused on missions, took their pay, and immediately spent it on necessities like weapons or medical care. Suzuki, however, invested his wealth. He modernized his clan, expanding into food logistics, hospitality, warehousing, tech, finance, materials, and advanced weaponry. With his abilities, he could generate a fortune in the blink of an eye, and his empire was only continuing to grow.

To him, money was just a tool of convenience, but he recognized it was the lifeblood of others. He was even planning to acquire a bank—the first financial institution ever controlled by a jujutsu sorcerer. Currently, handling large sums was a nightmare for sorcerers. The higher-ups would hand out massive lumps of cash without a single thought as to how the government might flag it as black money. Thinking about it made him sigh; whether it was the jujutsu conservatives or the regular government, they were all equally incompetent.

Because of all this, Suzuki wasn't exactly shocked that Mei Mei wanted to work for him. Despite keeping many of his operations secret, his high-profile moves were impossible to ignore. Given her cursed technique, Black Bird Manipulation—which allowed her to control crows and share their vision—it made sense that she had dug up some of his secrets. While her technique sounded basic and was mostly used for surveillance, he knew she had refined it into a lethal offensive weapon.

Regardless, Suzuki decided to press her. "Why do you want to work for me? Isn't it better to stay independent?"

"I thought so too," Mei Mei replied, "but let's just call this an investment."

"An investment?"

Seeing his skepticism, Mei Mei placed one hand on her chest and extended the other toward him. "I believe that working under you will increase my net worth far beyond what I can achieve on my own. So please, let me work for you. Boss, Sir, Master—whatever you want me to call you, I don't mind."

Suzuki stared at her for a long moment before asking, "Europe or Asia? Which do you prefer?"

"Europe or Asia?" Mei Mei thought for a moment. "I suppose Asia. Ideally, Malaysia, since the cost of living there is quite favorable."

Suzuki picked up his tablet, tapped the screen a few times, and slid it across the table to her. "There's a high-end penthouse suite available. If you prefer a mansion, you can request a housing transfer. The rest outlines your salary, benefits, and operational budget. Read the contract first."

Mei Mei took the tablet without hesitation, skimming the digital contract. "Where do I sign?"

"We'll finalize it shortly. Someone else is waiting for me." Suzuki stood up and gestured for Yuki to follow him. "Let's talk over there. Your topic is bound to be heavy, and I'd prefer to relax while we discuss it." He glanced back. "Maki, help Mei Mei find the legal department."

"Got it." Maki nodded. "Follow me." She didn't wait, turning on her heel and walking off.

Mei Mei and Ui Ui stood up to follow. Before leaving, Mei Mei lingered, watching Suzuki and Yuki walk away. She glanced down at Ui Ui, who was surprisingly silent and obedient despite his deep sister complex.

As expected, he's different, Mei Mei thought.

In this world, a sorcerer could either follow the crowd or carve out their own path. Previously, Mei Mei had been set on forging her own path, living strictly for her own wealth and ignoring the rest. To her, Gojo, the higher-ups, and the rest of the jujutsu world were just a group of exhausting, rigid people.

But Suzuki? He offered a third path—one she loved very, very much.

Yes, she smiled to herself; following him would definitely be worth it.
