"Stop it."

The sudden, sharp voice cut through the muffled, colorful explosions of the anime playing on the flat-screen TV. Suzuki didn't even flinch. He remained slouched against the plush, cool leather of his couch.

He was in the secondary headquarters for the Zenin family, naturally, it was the estate that he took from Gojo. Still, despite his attempt to put up a barrier and many other things, once again, Gojo had bypassed the estate.

Yet, Suzuki ignored him, keeping his eyes glued to the screen, until a tall shadow eclipsed the vibrant glow of the television. Gojo stood directly in front of him, blocking his view completely.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Suzuki asked calmly, tilting his head back to look up at Gojo.

"It's you who has caused a massive mess..." Gojo started, his voice carrying a rare edge of agitation. Still, he flinched slightly, as he knew well who was the cause of all of this mess, but then, Gojo straightened his posture, his tone firming.

"Five."

"What?"

"I want five of the seats of the Elders."

There were six Elders of the Jujutsu society, and Suzuki was casually almost all of them.

"..." Gojo remained silent, his jaw tightening.

Suzuki had already planned to take down the Elders. All six of them. Those old fools were stained with layers of black dirt that were impossible to wash away. So, the moment he made a move, everything ignited like wildfire. A blaze so fierce and unstoppable it tore through them like a dry forest in midsummer.

Right now, the Jujutsu society was in an absolute mess. The Elders had foolishly declared Suzuki a curse user, painting a target on his back after the Shibuya incident. Suzuki wondered what was wrong with their heads. In return, he made them fall. Some were violently ousted, while others now face the very real threat of a government-sanctioned death sentence.

Killing them outright would have been easy. In the original timeline, whether it was Kenjaku or Gojo, both eventually slaughtered the higher-ups. One killed half to take control; the other slaughtered them all before his final stand against Sukuna. If those two could do it, why couldn't Suzuki?

As for their replacements? It would be his people. Ranta, Chojiro, and the rest of his loyalists. If there were seats at the top, Suzuki intended to fill every single one of them, completely monopolizing the legislative body of Japan's Jujutsu society.

Power is nice, he thought, the corner of his lips twitching upward.

While the bottom-feeders fought over scraps, he could sit at the absolute pinnacle, pulling the strings and controlling everything. The only reason he hadn't done it sooner was the sheer annoyance of the job. Being an Elder was mostly customer service for the Japanese government, constantly managing cursed spirit outbreaks.

Yet, people killed for the position. Why? Because sitting at the top meant absolute freedom. With the authority of an Elder, they controlled every sorcerer beneath them. If anyone rebelled, a simple stroke of a pen turned them into a cursed user hunted by everyone.

But for Suzuki? The threat was laughable. Even if the entire Jujutsu society worked together, could they truly fight the full might of the Zenin Clan with him as the clan head? Not a chance.

The chaos of Shibuya and the cruel suicide mission forced upon Yuji at the Eishu Detention Center had been the catalyst.

"Weren't you also angry at them for sending your lovely students on that suicide mission, Gojo?" Suzuki asked, completely ignoring the tension rolling off the other man.

After all, it wasn't just him who was being provoked; Gojo's student, Yuji, was also forced to enter a suicide mission at the Eishu Detention Center, almost killing him in the process.

Yet, despite this, Gojo still tried to protect the Elders.

If Suzuki was afraid of Gojo, who acted like that, how could he stand at the top?

Yes, Gojo was strong. He possessed devastating attacks—Red, Blue, even Hollow Purple—but to Suzuki, they were too slow. Gojo's true trump card was Infinite Void, a domain that flooded a target's brain with endless information until they died. Yet even that ultimate technique was useless against Suzuki, who possessed the Manager.

Not that I'm going to tell him that, Suzuki thought.

The aftermath of Suzuki's retaliation had become a waking nightmare for the jujutsu society. The Elders and their families didn't just lose their wealth and reputations. They faced brutal ruin. Their descendants met total social death, were thrown into federal prisons, or committed harakiri—unable to bear the suffocating shame. In this traditional country, dying was often seen as preferable to living in disgrace.

Suzuki found this to be a distorted view since as long as one was alive, there was a chance to rebuild. Unfortunately for the Elders, they had chosen to make him an enemy. Their chances were zero.

If he really wanted to, Suzuki felt he could probably resurrect them using some of the dark techniques he had acquired from the other Suzuki in the alternate universe. But that was a waste of energy. He just needed to show the world exactly what it meant to provoke him.

"...Did you have to go this far?" Gojo asked, his voice thick with helpless frustration. He despised the Elders, but he also knew their sudden absence had plunged the entire society into a terrified paralysis.

Retaliate against the Zenin Clan? Did they have a death wish?

Even Gojo had to admit, in the deepest corners of his mind, that he wasn't entirely sure if he could defeat Suzuki. But he couldn't let the man seize total control of the Elders' seats. If Suzuki took the reins, nothing would stop him.

Gojo knew Suzuki wasn't inherently evil—he was just a man who wanted to live entirely on his own terms. But staring down at Suzuki now, Gojo felt a chill brush the back of his neck. It was an emotion the strongest sorcerer in the world had long forgotten.

Fear.

Gojo knew that unless he offered a compromise, Suzuki's brutal, heaven-sent retribution wouldn't stop. Suzuki hadn't even spared the Elders' pets. Anything connected to them was being erased.

"All of their wealth. You can have it," Gojo said, finally playing his trump card.

"Those are mine already," Suzuki replied, waving a hand dismissively. He could already hear the metaphorical clinking of the Elders' vaults transferring to his name.

"But it would be easier if they handed it over willingly. It saves you the trouble of working twice as hard to launder it into clean money, right?"

"That's not enough."

Gojo gritted his teeth, the fabric of his blindfold crinkling. "Two! No more! Two positions of the Elders for the Zenin clan. But you have to stop your attacks on them!"

"Not enough."

"You greedy bastard!" Gojo cursed, dragging a hand through his stark white hair. He let out a long, heavy sigh. "I, the strongest, will owe you a favor. Is that not enough?"

Suzuki paused, staring at Gojo with a strange glint in his eye. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah." Gojo nodded heavily. "If you stop, I will owe you a favor."

"You're sure those old fossils are worth it for you to do that?"

"Do you want the deal or not?"

"Okay, deal." Suzuki smiled, the tension in the room instantly dissipating.

Hearing the agreement, Gojo let out an exhausted breath and plopped down onto the expensive leather sofa next to Suzuki. Staring blankly at the ceiling of the house that had once been his family's, Gojo felt vexed. Despite being the strongest sorcerer alive, he currently felt so pitiful!

Gojo really is quite funny, but since cursed energy in this world stems from negative emotions, it’s no surprise that those who wield it might have some rather peculiar ways of thinking.
