the work continues! had some hurdles i was not anticipating pop up on the road to publication, but i think we got that sorted out. so expect an announcement on that front SOON. the current chapter continues as well, and one of the things that's making it more complicated is that it is time to update morgan's status sheet! this chapter will have a level up scene and morgan learning about skills from veterans like terisa and kojeg, and i'll be sharing her updated sheet once it's all worked out.

now, the main markers for her planned progression and improvement were set long ago, but that doesn't mean there's no leeway. morgan is about to level up, and get another two enhancement points. one of them is already going to be spent for Story(tm) reaons, but the other i am undecided on. and then i thought to myself, i said amib, it's too bad we don't know a bunch of people who might have some ideas on what kind of skills morgan should enhance. 

so, nothing is set in stone, but nothing is out of the question as well. i'm not going to limit responses to a silly poll. that would just be throwing out a list that i already thought of. i want to see what YOU guys think:)

what should morgan use her spare enhancement point on?

(for reference, Enhancement points are awarded on every level that ends in 5, so she gets them at 15, 25, 35, 45, etc. enhancement points can be used to cap off any skill that has been mastered, although the enhanced effect will vary from skill to skill)

Can she upgrade her manipulation skills or is there still room for without the enchancement point?

In total honesty I'd have her save it for when she gets her wings.

Well, so far her main weakness is control and her primary strength is power. She could enhance her manipulation to improve control. However, going forward her biggest weakness is lack of equipment. To fix that I would see if she can enhance her tattoo ability.

well, her manipulation abilities come through affinities and "sculpt" skills that eventually combine to unlock "-kinesis" ones. she might be able to spend one on a mastered pyrokinesis or terrakinesis

I'd imagine enchancing one of those could really increase her staying power in a fight because she wouldn't be burning through her reserves as fast

Yeah enhancing pyrokinesis seems like it'd be massive in straight fights but honestly i think terrakinesis has some far more interesting opportunities overall

Pyrokinesis - she's already demonstrating incredible ability there (it seems to be her last-ditch solution to problems), and since her weaknesses are mostly in staying power, spending a point to augment that would let her end a fight before her energy levels become a problem. Since the prerequisite is 'mastered', it can only go onto strengths. Now, if Morgan decides to actively work on mastering things that will counteract her weaknesses, then throwing later points there and bringing herself up to a generalist sorceress would be wise -- but in a world of monsters, you generally need to have at least one very, very big club. Especially if staying power is a weak point.

...what happens if you stack enhancement points? Also, what happens if you used an enhanced surge to power an enhanced spell?

Honestly I like the idea of her improving her tattoo stuff but I have a sneaking suspicion that that is required for her to get her wing tattoos hence one already being used. For second I would like to see her fortifying either her control or mana regen which are sounding like they may be really big handicaps outside of her spire but I'm honestly blanking on if ishe has skills that she could spend that would help with either of those. Failing all that pyrokinesis would be fun. When all else fails kill it iwith fire!

I think I would also save it for [runic enchantment] or [soul anchor] or whichever skill is the one that gives access to more runic tattoos. Alternatively, getting a mastery point in the camoflauge skill would be hilarious in a city, just walking past naked without anyone noticing.

Also, just remembered there might be some skills involved in flight that would eventually accrue mastery. Would think about those, if it increased speed... Finding them elves seems inevitable if she could do that.

What about speech or understanding so far she understands spoken words but the ability to instinctually read and speak to all would be a boon. Like being able to understand cat hisses and wolf howls. Read ancient texts and modern signs.

Waiting for flight and camouflage for civilization (if she didn't max that skill, she should) seems sensible, as well as some mana reg. But so far she doesn't have a specific mana reg spell I think, and just burns through food.
