It was my best friend Joie’s 40th birthday this past weekend. She’s older than I am by a few years and she’s a graceful badass.

The sun was shining and her partners threw her a backyard bbq. It was finally warm enough for me to wear a dress. (And flash the camera, of course.)

I wore the pelican dress that Joie and her girlfriend found for me when they were thrift shopping. I’m a sucker for strange and whimsical prints.
