The world is on fire and so is my home. Yesterday I had to take a stand and give some tough ultimatums. It did not go well. It’s hugely anxiety provoking to not know what’s coming next, but I couldn’t keep going the way we were. I was raised in a chaotic environment with angry drunk men. I do not want to live in one now. No one can thrive that way. It’s hard to say enough is enough, especially when you love them, especially when you understand. These are hard times and no one is at their best.

Maybe this is a blessing. Maybe being busy and distracted all the time let things get so bad. Maybe it’s a gift now to have to really look at it. To be forced to make some changes.

Go you for taking a stand about what is _not_ going to be coming next, regardless of how things go down. May the one you love find the healing they need, and the help they need from someone who is not you. I witness you.

I'm realizing that it's a wonderful gift to give people space to grow, heal, and make changes but it is a gift, not something that you have to do for those you love at your own expense. Sometimes taking care of yourself hurts in the moment but knowing and having your boundaries makes for a better life. I'm sorry its hard, its so good you can do the hard thing anyways.

You are an amazing and strong woman. Good for you for taking a stand.
