What do I do when I have the house to myself for a few days? I smoke joints on my couch in the nude. I visit with all the people I’ve been meaning to catch up with. I say I’m going to spend time working out but I don’t, I eat too many snacks and take the dog on too-long walks instead. I stay up too late. I think too much. I write letters I don’t send. It’s always over so soon.
