One of the best light sources for photography is the sun. When shooting outdoors, I always try to work with natural light, especially during the golden hour—the hour just after sunrise or before sunset.

I position my subject so that the light falls softly on their face. For portraits, I often shoot with the sun behind the subject, creating a beautiful backlight and soft glow around the edges. If the light is too harsh, I use a reflector or a simple white card to bounce some soft light back onto the subject’s face.

Using natural light can dramatically enhance your photos, giving them a warm, natural look.
