Jam Handy uses crudely animated puppets to explain how goods are manufactured and sold, and frankly the whole thing feels a little condescending.

Fun With Shorts! 'Round & 'Round (Widgets)

Crudely animated puppets illustrate the manufacturing and selling of "widgets," and it all frankly feels a little insulting.

Hi, Josh, I wish I could send you some of the comic strips I've done about economics, such as the short one about why we can't just put a toll booth on a lighthouse. I love what you've done with this short. By itself, it would be too slow and simple for many viewers, but you've spruced it up. You keep it moving, without detracting from its important message. ... Well, you were a bit snarky, and that might call into question some of the short's points, but I think most people will get what you both are saying, and it's your job to be snarky. Thanks for keeping up the good work. :)

loved it! my phone rang just as you said, "Widget me, man," and i had to answer it mid-laugh. i don't think that ever happened before. Oh, and for some reason, your Pink Floyd references just delight me down to my goofy core. good stuff. thank you!
