NEW EXCLUSIVE: Blink of an Aya starts next week (Patreon)

Starting next week, we're going to get a lot more Aya. All exclusive to Patreon, and presented in a way never seen before!

After successfully finishing the first version of Treading Ground, I made a couple of major missteps. The first was to start a new comic one friggin' week after my years-long major project came to an end. I was desperate to hold on to those pageviews, and I didn't give myself enough time to stew on it.

The second misstep was the same one I would repeat again years later - trying to move on from TG when there was so much left to explore in that story. I'm pretty hard-headed, so it took a while for me to learn that lesson.

If you were around during that deeply confusing time, you knew this comic as The Idle State, or as it was retooled later, Peached. What I'm doing now is taking the best parts of those comics, mashing them up (one might say, melding them together like a jambalaya,) and assembling a single story with those building blocks. Think of Blink of an Aya as a Director's Cut.

Like The End of Compliance, these comics haven't been online for many years. And like The Aftermath, they are now invalidated by the reboot. But there's still a lot of good stuff in here.

I really like the art in these - hence the montage of cute Ayas! I had just come off of a solid year of updating TG, so I was at peak performance art-wise. You'll also meet characters you'll see again in the TG reboot (like Bex), so you'll be ahead of the game when they are re-introduced.

I don't intend to continue this comic beyond the material I already have - TG has to be my main focus (and, quite frankly, more NSFW stuff). But I am putting in some extra effort to reformat these strips and make them nicer to read, along with some editorial improvements where it makes sense.

I hope you enjoy what I cook up!
