have to stop mid way, but you'll find out who own the locket in the next movie. Meta spoiler: I seen this trilogy like a dozen time now, I don't know how I miss the locket foreshadowing in this movie like 12 times, I'm blind as a bat.

You weren't wrong to assume that the leviathan is a whale. The term is originally from the bible where it just describes a scary unbeatable sea creature without being specific about what it is. That's why it's been used for all kinds of different sea monsters in different stories

For this movie, they kind of combined a few separate ideas from real world pirates/sailors, which I think they did very well. Davy Jones seems to have been the name of a spirit, with the term 'being sent to Davy Jones' Locker' being a term meaning your ship had been sunk or you had drowned. The Flying Dutchman is a famous ghost ship that is seen by sailors in the distance, but can never land or make it to shore. The story has a lot of versions, but usually revolve around the captain or crew doing something bad and getting cursed. They combined the idea of Davy Jones and the Dutchman together, so now we have an evil spirit piloting a ghost ship for the movie. The Kraken is an old monster from stories from Northern Europe, with it being vaguely described as 'many armed' and would try to drag down sailors or even whole boats. Interestingly, stories of the Kraken may have a bit of truth about them, since we now know that some squids can get very big (though not nearly as big as in the movie), and someone a giant squid long time ago seeing one, or even having one accidently latch onto the boat, may have inspired the idea of the Kraken. Always loved how Pirates of the Caribbean would combine a lot of ideas and stories from pirates and sailors around the world into one big story!

haha I hope you had a good time watching it 🥰😉

ohh I see! I really thought a leviathan is a whale only, but I see, it is used for various creatures 😲 thank you for sharing that 🥰🤗

SprinkleVerse

59:56, I wonder whose boots are these, I hope they reveal it before the movie end😂. 2:20:45, funny you says that, every times he help someone, it backfire on him, "no good deed goes unpunished". 1st movie, save Elizabeth, thrown in jail; save Will, almost hang. This movie, recruit sacrifice from Tortuga instead of innocent people, almost got killed by Norington; came back to save his crew, got shackle to the ship by Eliz and killed. 2:25:00 these people are there to mourn for Jack, 2:25:16 one even shred tear, there a reason why his soul was worth 100 souls, I'll explain a bit more in depth in the next movie (since it was cutout of the theatrical cut). Plus there another timestamp in this movie I'll drop it in the next one since it spoilery to point it out now, man the amount of foreshadowing in this movie are diabolical.

Poor Jack he really tries to help 🥹 lol did he say that "no good deed goes unpunished"? I don't remember this line but it's so true for him 😭

Kurato Wakiru

he didn't say that, that just an idiom.

Um, fun fact. When the guy who takes William Turner to the cannibal island, he says he trades for delicious long pork. Long pork, is old slang for human meat. I had no idea until recently lol.
