The daughter name is literately Mary Sue. Tanya is screw lol. In case you don't know, Mary Sue is a trope, a flawless self-insert character (usually fanfic, but now a day, Hollywood too) that the writer bend the existing lore/world building to make her perfect.

Even from a logical perspective letting the army simply retreat was never going to work. All soldiers are people and if they are forced out then they lose their homes their families and everything they had of course they will try to come back for it. Tanya understands that part well but she doesn't understand the other side because her way would amount to whole sale slaughter of everyone that is not on her side so Tanyas plan never would have worked either. She is equally incapable of using this victory but she never understands this part because she lacks all empathy.

as another comment already said that the daughter is literally a Mary Sue, as far as i remember she got 3 different blessings (Tanya got not a single blessing, she got an artifact). The gods (yes plural, in the anime we only know of being x, but there are way more gods and being x is just the only one who got involved with tanya) sometimes give blessings to humans when they pray for something and at that time Mary got (by chance) 3 different blessings for 3 different prayers. i dont remember the exact details so i can only say that one prayer was from Mary, the others two were from her parents

Do you not remember World War 1? Germany was defeated and forced into an Armistice, what a wonder that turned out to be, eh? Tanya was a pretty big military buff in her previous life, she knows how flimsy an armistice is. She* wanted to wipe out the counter-force to get the Republic into a surrender, essentially turning them into a vassal state that they can use as bait for the neighboring countries and global superpowers to not attack them, as in, divvying up the resources of the Republic, and distributing that, and potentially sectioning off territorial areas to give away as well as 'incentives' for peace since they (surrounding countries and other global superpowers) would have immediate gains and benefits, compared to just potential gains from warring with another global superpower. *Edit: Okay, maybe not her, but that's definitely what I would do, lol. Edit 2: Also, it was super easy to do false flag operations in the era before widespread video surveillance, so any country that wants to join in the war can just make up something as a Casus Belli.
