I won't say too much about what is shown here, since we'll learn more in the future, but most of this does take place in the past, when Emilia didn't live in Rozwaal's mansion yet. As bad as we might see these people at the start trying to capture Emilia and put her in a cage, Emilia doesn't. Emilia is just too kind that she would even save bad people like that. She just didn't want to see them get hurt, even if they were bad. The Beast of the End is another name for Puck. I'm fairly certain it was mentioned once before in one of the episodes of season 1. I guess it goes to show how strong Puck is. The ice crystals were really made by Emilia. Puck could also probably make them, as he was thretening the slave trader guy by saying that he could make them bloom again. Not to mention to Melaquera, he said that all of the countless ice crystals were his doing, to which Melaquera responds with that being a lie, indirectly confirming that Emilia truly was behind at least some of the ice crystals that were made. Even if he didn't at this point know about Emilia directly, he could see through Pucks lie that all of the ice crystals were made by Puck. It was also briefly mentioned that Emilia woke up from within the ice. If that's something that happened, I wonder if other elves can also wake up? We also see the black sludge that's named "The venom of the Black Serpent". That name is kinda important, you should definitely remember it. Half-demon is just a way to be mean about her being half-elf. It doesn't actually mean he was literally half demon. He was called half-devil basically from the start of season 1. I hope we see more about Puck, who he took the oath to and everything else surrounding him. There are a few theories about him, but I'll leave them for season 2 or something. Looking forward to season 2!

Just one thing to note: when they call Emilia a ‘half-demon,’ it’s meant as a derogatory insult. They don’t literally mean she’s a demon — it’s more like they’re comparing her to one because of her resemblance to the Witch. This isn’t the first time she’s been called something similar either. Back during the Royal Selection, when all the candidates were gathered and the rules were being explained, someone called her a "half-devil" and Roswaal had to correct them. (this was around the 34:50 mark in your ep 12-13 reaction if you wanna go back and see). At least that's how I understand it.

So it was Emilia who used those crystals! it really seems like she has some insane power and that's why everyone is afraid of her and want to end her. she is really super kind and doesn't deserve all this hate she is getting 😭 Emilia thinks that the evils in the snow might wake up one day, and then Subaru's statement at the end "no such thing as ice that doesn't melt" made me think that they just might, puck even agreed with it. there is definietely a huge mystery behind that ice, I can't wait to find out!

Well, season 2 will at some point delve into a bit more of Emilia's past. All I'll say is that she's a good contender for being the most adorable little girl in anime of all time.
