Checkpoint update! Roswaal clearly knows Subaru has some kind of time power. He even said "This time?" to when Subaru was talking. There is no way he doesn't. We don't learn too much about the necklace here, but we finally hear it through Subaru, that it was most likely some kind of "teleport trap", that teleported you to the graveyard. Clearly, since it was meant to be given to Emilia by Frederica due to the instructions she got in the letter, it was Emilia that was supposed to be teleported to the graveyard. I don't really know why the necklace glowed there when Frederica transformed, it's never really explained and doesn't really fit in with anything else either so I could only speculate at this point. Since it's meant to resonate with the barrier, to let demihumans through it without making them pass out, it might have to do something with their demihuman blood and maybe it aids in transformation. Who really knows. If anyone has a better explanation for it or actually knows why, I'd love to hear it. The last scene with Petra's hand was so insane, I didn't expect it when I first watched it. It was also weird to see Beatrice save Subaru after everything had happened and not before.

EXACTLY!!! Roswaal must know somehow but how can this be 😱

I always assumed Roswaal set that teleport trap. I also do think that it's not just Roswaal that knows. Puck can read minds or intentions, no doubt he knows that Subaru has some kind of special ability. And well, it's also very noticeable when Subaru gets sent to the past a lot of the time, the characters who are close to him do notice that he suddenly gains all kinds of knowledge that should be impossible for him to know. Though I think they'd probably expect his ability to be something closer to divination rather than actually dying, but it is noticeable to some of them that he has dealt with a lot of death, pain and anguish whenever it happens.

I think Garfield's change in attitude is a repeat of what happened in the mansion arc. In the first cycle, Subaru gained Garfield's trust to an extent and Garfield saw Emilia break down multiple times. But in the 2nd cycle Subaru doesn't gain that trust and Garfield does not see Emilia's suffering. Instead he sees an arrogant guy pretending he can do everything by himself. And it's the same cause both times. Subaru is too focused on the goal, but not concerned enough with everyone's feelings about their current situation and how to handle it. So Subaru's practical solutions actually pushes others away since it also pushes away their feelings.

omg!!! thank you so much for answering that question for me 🥰 until I read your comment I still didn't understand Garfiel's change in attitude at all. 😲 it makes a lot of sense, I was worried when Subaru was not paying attention to Emilia and was too focused on the mansion 😓

This story reminds me a lot about how RPG's work, like you need to build rep with various characters to unlock their quest or trust. We see a perfect example of this with Garfield in this episode. Loved yer reaction so far to this series!

SprinkleVerse

haha that describes the relationship with Garfield 100% 😆 I'm happy that you are enjoying the reaction 🥰
