Well, about the food thing... Jinshi was moody like that because the food is 'invigorating', which is a subtle way of saying it makes them horny. So with Jinshi asking Maomao so crudely if she was sure he should eat it, he was effectively asking for permission to mate with her. He was hoping she would get the hint and that he in fact, does have a wiener in his pants... but she didn't and kept assuming doesn't have one. After all.. no wiener, no threat.
