Let's go! Excited for this, my dress-up darling is in my top 3 romcom with Kaguya-sama and Horimiya (Horimiya being #1), have fun with this one!

Kapitány Zoltán

Interesting subtitles, never seen this version... Anyway, I'm happy you started this anime, it's one of my few comfort shows, which I can watch any time, and it will just feel good. :)

SprinkleVerse

I watched the first episode on Netflix but then switched to Crunchyroll (≧∀≦)ゞ

SprinkleVerse

It's a lot of fun I'm loving it! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)

So that's why... I started to question my memories since the next 3 episodes had the subs I remembered, and only this one was different. :D

SprinkleVerse

Hahaha, I thought the subs in Netflix were harder to follow for some reason that's why I switched 😅

Yes, the Netflix release runs the CC of the English dub script. While the English dub is very good, it does take away some of the subtle storytelling. For example, in the translated script, Gojo's inner monologue when he first encounters Marin makes no mention of her appearance and focuses purely on her personality and social standing. Adding "She's beautiful" to that monologue directly contradicts his stated attitude towards the word as expressed in ep3. I quess the scriptwriter wasn't reading ahead.

SprinkleVerse

I see! 😮 good thing I switched to crunchyroll then 😅

It's really interesting to think that Gojo was hated for that and I can absolutely see why. On one hand, children can be very brutal and honest in what they think but they can also not sometimes understand things like we do, we can clearly understand that even though we might find the dolls creepy or whatever, it's fine for him to do it because it brings him joy. Why do I say that it's interesting then? I find it interesting because when I was young, even as a teenager (so about 15 years ago, sheesh) people weren't really into anime or games, at least compared to now where anime like Demon Slayer and AOT or games like Elden Ring and GTA are basically mainstream. Those things were seen as nerdy and well, nerds were made fun of and bullied. I can absolutely see how this could be the case for him and his hobbies too. And so, like most otaku or gamers at that time, we stayed mostly quiet about it unless someone else brought up the topic. I can't say I didn't have any friends or anything like that, I ended up with a lot of friends actually that played games and started watching anime because of me and it's been great. Although, I've not been so great with girls in the same regards yet. 😅

SprinkleVerse

ohhh I see! I wonder if the reason why it's become more mainstream now is because of the internet and social media. 😳 I think there are lots of girls playing games and watching anime nowadays😅

Tarvo27

I think social media is a very big part of it for sure. I think covid also helped a lot because people spent a lot of time at home and needed things to do. It's why also streaming and vtubers and so on got more popular. I do agree that there are more girls playing games or watching anime, although I can't seem to find any anywhere lmao 🤣😭🤣😭

SprinkleVerse

Oh yea Covid times opened my eyes to lots of things 😌 I wish you the best of luck! 💖🥰
