In the game Cyberpunk 2077 (which takes place a year after this show), you can find Rebecca's shotgun and David's jacket. You even get to have some payback for David and the gang by fighting Adam Smasher. And in the Afterlife bar, where all the best edgerunners and mercenaries hang out, there's a drink named after David. He truly embodied the Edgerunner dream: aim high, dream big, and go out in a blaze of glory. Unfortunately, there's no happy endings in Night City.

Cyberpunk is inherently a very pessimistic world, so this is probably the darkest series Studio Trigger has ever worked on. Studio Trigger is known for their unique art style and often over the top storylines, some of their popular series being Gurren Lagan, Kill La Kill, and Delicious in Dungeon, which tend to be far more optimistic.

Oh wow the same as kill la kill! Definitely unique 😮

Tbh i don't actually think if they where honest with each other it would have changed to mutch David would have put the responsibility of it on his back like he was everything else and i doubt he would have ever gone to the moon because he saw himself as responsible for his crew unfortunately everything trough his life was for other people and what they wanted and needed and unfortunately even if he somehow got out even regular jobs require implants and yeah adam smasher is pretty much just a brain and nerves at this point and the reson he doesn't go cyberpsycho is he is already a psychopath so he isn't effected by the mental health effects

SprinkleVerse

I see 😭 thank you for the explanation. And wow! A psychopath! That makes sense 😱

Makes me tear up every time ❤️😭

I like to believe David is still alive since Arasaka sees him as special and I doubt their greed would let them waste an experiment, and also since we never actually saw him die it was just implied, maybe they'll keep him as a consciousness or something. But as they say "In Night City there are no happy endings". Ironically I think if David turned his Chrome down one notch and then used the Cyberskeleton he was probably capable of beating Adam Smasher since his moveset is not too crazy and David has displayed equal abilities to his. I can only imagine how Lucy is gonna do the rest of her life since she achieved her goal and now has no one left. Truly a sad ending.

I think It's still expensive to travel to the moon, just cheaper than he'd thought a ticket to the moon would be. And I do think David was happy, in his own way. David never had a dream, he just wanted to make other people's dreams come true. His mother's dream, Maine's dream, and Lucy's dream. And in a way he has, though with a bittersweet ending. Sure there might have been other better paths for him to take, but it's not like he (or anyone really) can see those paths or that those paths are even garanteed to be better. He might've just died like his mother, in a crossfire - or in any other accident. David did what he at the moment thought would be best for him and Lucy. And who can blame him. Lucy is one of my (if not most) favorite female characters. Not just a love interest, but also a good backstory, interesting characteristics, amazing and unforgetable design, and an unique and real dream. Thanks for another wonderful reaction serie Sprinkle.

You are right about David. I guess I just was heart broken seeing him live this way but this was the only way he knew how to survive in this city 😭 I want to believe that he was happy doing all this for others but I just couldn't feel that he was while pushing his body to the limit. maybe I'm the one who wasn't happy with his decision because it pained me seeing him put himself through so much 😭 I'm glad you enjoyed watching the show with me 🥰💖

That is an appropriate reaction to seeing a good person breaking themselves for someone else's sake 😂. Something tells me Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is going to do well in your polls when it releases, and something tells me it'll be just as messed up as this one. So I'm sure our hearts will be wrenched again pretty soon.
