I know this movie may be messy to understand especially with multiple spider people but that's the Marvel multiverse and if your wondering a Multiverse is basically a infinite collection of universes inside of a giant bubble

So in the comics, Peter Park did die at one point, with Miles taking over. He came back to life a few years later, and basically retired for a while. Since Spiderman has always been Marvel's most popular character, and most people ended up liking Miles after some time, they started making a ton of different versions of Spiderman.

Comic writers make a lot of alternate versions of mainline characters, whether it's a quick one-off story like "what if Superman was raised by Batman's family" or an entire themed series like the 2099 universe set in the future. All these versions of Spider-man have their own series. Spider-man Shattered Dimensions involved playing as 4 different Spider-men, each playing slightly different, and the final arc of the 1994 animated series had Spider-man team up with several alternate versions of himself. Marvel created the ultimate universe in the year 2000 which reinvented the characters in an attempt to entice new comic book fans who didn't want to catchup on decades worth of stories, while still running the mainline universe. This included a high school aged Peter Parker, but over the years the characters grew up again, so Marvel decided to introduce new characters to take up the mantel of old characters, which led to Miles Morales being introduced in 2011. The first iteration of the ultimate universe ended around 2015 but some popular aspects, such as Miles, were folded into the mainline universe.

The animators and artists who worked on this movie must have had so much fun with it. It's so creative! One little tidbit: The scene at the end was in reference to a popular meme of two spidermen pointing at each other taken from an old spiderman cartoon. Just google "spiderman pointing" or something and you'll find it.

The many colored suits down in the Spider Shed are actually references to various comics and storylines! The one with a cape that Miles was showing off to Peter B, was actually one from a series called "What If?", where they would tweak a small part of the storyline, and then show the consequences. This one was one where Spider-Man did stop the burglar who killed Uncle Ben, and then never learned about responsibility, instead donning a cape and becoming a celebrity entertainer at galas and the like. There are some of the Spider Armors, similar to the one Tony gives Peter in Infinity War, and one made specifically to be anti-Electro! Every spider person has had an appearance in a comic of some sort, but not necessarily a full storyline. I will say that the spiderman at the end was not Miles, but someone else, and the end credits scene was a reference to a meme that was super popular then.

Yeah this movie did everything right in my eyes. Yet damn... it still hurts losing the one you love and care about. Who knew the twist with the uncle Aron...gosh that hurt Miles.

If I remember correctly it was because Oscorp was making the spiders like the one that bit Peter, they were trying to recreate the formula that made Captain America. So kind of the same way Captain America was able to come back from being frozen all that time, Peter woke up several years later in a laboratory
