Happy Emilia is super cute, I love her cheerfulness here. There is not much else to say about most of the episode. The pieces are in place to fight Shaula and the mabeasts and hopefully Gluttony too. We do briefly see Lye running up the stairs and saying that he can't get in touch with Rui or Roy, so it does seem like they can interact with eachother. I wonder if that's limited just to communication or also sharing memories. This episode however, focuses hard on dealing with Reid. I did notice Reid lifting up his eyepatch, not quite sure why. His eye is still there so I wonder why he's hiding it? Is it something like Kenpachi from Bleach? I do remember talking about how Julius puts on an act to be this perfect knight in one of the earlier episodes. And here we do see Reid confirming that as long as he keeps trying to put on this act, he's not really being true to himself and can't ever hope to beat him. And while this may be true, he doesn't forsake his ideals. Ideals of a true knight. As while it may all be fake like Reid says, he believes that some people find hope in it. This ties back into the discussion Subaru and Julius had, where Subaru said that the way Julius looks and acts gives him hope that he can defeat Reid. Instead of that, he chooses to face on the fear of change. As he said before Subaru lost his memories, he was afraid of losing anything else. It's not explained well, but reforging the contract with the spirits made the spirits apparently evolve and that's how Julius is so strong here. Since he has spirits of all elements and they went inside him, lending him their powers, Julius can basically channel magic of every element, leading to such a chaotic fight. And then we go to Anastasia and Echidna. It seemingly turns out that Anastasia is sleeping inside her Od because she doesn't want to forget Julius. It's pretty crazy seeing Echidna talk to Anastasia about greed and wanting everything in the world (they are a perfect match I guess). And with the cheer from the real Anastasia, Julius defeats Reid. Turns out Roy's body wasn't good enough to hold Reid (not too surprised about that) and that his true self was even stronger. I guess we got lucky. That's one obstacle down. I wonder if Roy is fully dead or just passed out though. I don't remember if I said this under an episode or did I just think it, but we finally see the final floor of the tower. Since we had a test from Flügel and Reid, it makes sense that the last one would be from Volcanica as he is one of the three heroes that sealed the Witch of Envy. Although, from what he said, it doesn't look like it's a test. Volcanica here looks a lot more human-like than I expected him to look. I still think that the fight animation didn't really fit Re:Zero (as was with Garfiel vs Kurgan since it's animated by the same person), but this fight was a lot clearer and easier to follow, so I do like it more. It sounds weird, but the animations seems too smooth for me and that makes it feel out of place. I can't really explain it, because this isn't an issue for me with things like Chainsaw Man or whatever.

Beatrice brought up Shaula’s attack, because Subaru explained the full situation to them. After they met up in the corridor, and Emilia introduced herself, there was a cut to them summarizing the threats Subaru told them about.

Someone else brought that up too, and I agree, that seems the most likely, I just thought it was a bit weird. Edit: Yeah, looking through the scene again it does seem a bit clearer that it's what happened. Must have been just me.

Oh man, what an episode! I’ve been waiting for this conclusion since episode 6! I love how they portrayed Julius’ new spell, Al Cranvel! The rainbow shine in his cloak and his hair changing color were done so beautifully! As for the fight scenes, I really like some of the cuts, the different perspectives, the fluidity, the area changing from Julius’ earth spirit. But personally, I feel like this animation style works best with fast paced combat, so some scenes looked a bit wanky. I prefer the Garfield vs Kurgan, but I still love this fight so much! Now, it wasn’t specifically said, but by forming the new contract, Julius’ spirits evolved from lesser to full spirits, that’s why he had such a power spike. I wonder what it would take for them to evolve into great spirits like Beako or Puck… Also, the fact that Anastasia was never actually stuck, but was just hiding to avoid forgetting Julius was so sweet! Volcanica is the Divine Dragon that protects the kingdom of Lugunica under the ancient covenant. Along with Reid and Flugel, he sealed Satella 400 years ago. So as it turns out, I’ve got plenty of time to watch the reactions, but my phone has no signal around the camp, so I’m watching it while on my way to the training grounds!

Also, it’s pretty funny how from other characters’ perspective Subaru lost his memories for about an hour, was left alone for five minutes and somehow got them back xD

SprinkleVerse

so that's what happened with the spirits! Thanks for all the info 💖

glad you managed to watch the reaction before your training! ~\(≧▽≦)/~ Lol that's true! I didn't think of how much time passed for them. it's sad now that I think about it 😭 I mean I already know that but it just hit me when you said this, that Subaru has lots of suffering, days and days of it but no one knows about it. only us who can never reach him!😭
