I'm so happy for this! I love Slime Diaries!

The reason for the more 'chibi' artstyle for this, is because The Slime Diaries manga uses this same artstyle, so they carried it over. And they used this artstyle for this spin off, to make it look more calm, cute, funny and less serious than the main story, to set them a bit apart. Also, there's currently 7 manga volumes for The Slime Diaries, but the series is currently on hiatus by the author. However, the anime has only covered the first 2 volumes of the manga, so, in theory, if they want to, they could easily make 2 more seasons of Slime Diaries, which I hope they will some day.

oh wow I didn't even know it had its own manga!!!!! 😮 I thought they might be part of the main story "that time I got reincarnated as a slime" but the slice of life part of it! that's interesting 😳🩵

Sgtanders

Well, I guess you can think of it as part of the main story, since its canon to the main series, its just told in spin off, since I figure the author had plenty of fun with the universe, so he wanted to tell more about it, even just the mundane stuff. Another spin off is actually getting an anime next year, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Clayman Revenge, coming in April, 2027. There's actually a good bunch of side stuff and spin offs for Tensura, so Fuse, the author, has been busy. I haven't read them yet, but a bunch of them seem like they could be fun to animate, just like Slime Diaries. I mean, you have Gourmet Story, based around a goblin named Peko who wants to cook. Then you have Trinity in Tempest, centered around Phos, Stella, and Nemu who go to Tempest on secret orders from their respective Demon Lords, and looks like they just end up hanging around and chilling, haha 🤣 You can read about some of them here, if you're curious - https://tensura.fandom.com/wiki/Manga

whoaa! that's a lot of spin offs hahaha they sound fun for sure! AND OMG! I'm looking forward to the Clayman Revenge 😱 so we will see Clayman again in there!!! he always made me mad but now I'm just so angry at Yuki since he is the one behind everything evil (╬▔皿▔)╯

Sgtanders

Indeed, hahaha. I'm looking forward to that one as well, could be fun to watch what Clayman gets up to. And I'm looking forward to what bad things are in store for Yuuki in the future, shouldn't be anything good! 😂
