Such a lovely reunion... I believe Black Flash is like you can feel it, but doesn't mean ya can't always land it. Now if someone could "willing" pull the Black Flash off....they be monsters. increase status plus and a large portion of your curse energy back. That be rather busted. And Yuji kinda scared me how much he has changed in one night...sooo much...

Black Flash only really happens when a sorcerer applies cursed energy to a physical strike (like a punch or kick) within 0.000001 seconds (one-millionth of a second) of the physical impact. Which is why it's impossible for someone to do it at will and is more of a feel thing that either happens or it doesn't, it's all down to almost impossible timing. Yuji got a little too vengeful and wanted to torture Mahito and now Geto is here to save the day. That mental damage Mahito did to him kind of got him swinging to close to his emotions now in the opposite direction.

As explained back in season 1, Black Flash is something that just happens on it's own. Nanami said that he was able to unleash 4 in a row by a complete accident and that he got lucky. It sure seems that Black Flashes happen at the best moments though. They did say that it happens in a similar situations like what athletes would call "the zone" so I guess it can happen "on will" if the person doing it is truly locked in.
