yes, its implied better in the other versions, but vegeta did in fact surpass gokus ssj3 in that moment.

It's interesting how in this version they took away Vegeta's silliness that he had in the original episodes and movie. Instead they made him super terrified of Beerus to the point that they whole episodes color is kind of washed out and not as vibrant as the last episodes. They even managed to maintain Beerus's mystery and he only got friendly when he needed to be otherwise he was still terrifying. Although I do miss Vegeta's Bingo Dance and him running booths😂. The purple Vegeta had (without spoiling it) I like to theorize is a reference and foreshadowing to something we will see if they animate the Granolah arc in the future which is a Manga arc that takes place before the Super Hero Movie and after the Moro Arc which we'll get late 2027. Similar to how we saw foreshadowing when Goku fought Beerus and dodged instinctively.
