oohh peak, this show is really good

Daiga54

This show is based on the game League of Legends lore so I don't think its explicitly said but the water where they live is too polluted to risk going down there to get what they lost.

Crimsonfury44

The world of arcane like a bizarre modern isekai people here live in a Victorian age where the rise of technology has just begun and a lot gadgets are based on old clockwork like the Big Ben clock tower in London and as for the blue spheres it's a power source it's like a mix between a lesser powerful version of a infinity stone and the Arch reactor that powers Ironman's suits and magic exists as for other non humans as well

sunnyletom

an amazing show to watch, the rich live on the other side of the city where only the peolpe with money can live and on our side are the workers from he mines and stuff where their city can stretch deep undergrownd where the air gets even worse to breathe in

I'm not sure how much you know of League of Legends and the lore of the world they are in. I won't go into the lore, but I'll try to brief you on what kind of place it is. If I went into the lore, I'd probably write the longest ever comment ever posted on Patreon.😂 The world they are in is very medieval, swords and magic type place. With dragons and monsters of all kinds. There are multiple different regions in the world: Freljord, the cold northern lands where tribes of people try to survive. Ionia, the typical asia inspired region, where they practice living together in harmony with nature and spirits, it's also where most of the animal people (Vastaya) are from. Demacia, the typical seeming good kingdom which was built after a massive magic war by people running away from it. Noxus, the typical seeming evil kingdom which tries to conquer areas of the world by force, they are all about strength of any kind. Shurima, the big desert region that once was a big empire. Targon, a mountain region that houses different celestial worshipping tribes and aspects of different kinds, basically gods. Ixtal, an isolated jungle region that blocked itself off from all outside world for a long time. Bilgewater, a region consisting of a cluster of islands, housing pirates and all kinds of other sea people. Shadow Isles, a long destroyed island, now haunted by spirits and other kinds of undead and other spooky creatures. There is also the Void, which technically isn't a region, but there is an area in the world that is getting invaded by void creatures due to a war that happened in Shurima long ago. There is technically more, but these are the main ones. And last but not least, where we are in Arcane - Piltover and Zaun. Piltover, the nice looking upper city, built with steampunk-like technology, they are big on science and technology. Zaun is the undercity, the slums where people who aren't that well off try to survive. The place is home to all kinds of diseases, drugs, toxic gases and whatever else. If Piltover tries to get by with "steampunk" technology, Zaun utilizes more chemical based machinery, often called chemtech. I won't go too into it as you'll see and probably learn of things as the show goes on. There is a lot of overlap between all the regions, especially Piltover and Zaun as the two used to be one big Shuriman port city in the past (Oshra Va'Zaun). I won't go into the characters as you'll learn of them on your own through the show. If you'd like to see the world map, just to get a picture of where everything is, I recommend checking out the League of Legends Universe page, there shouldn't be spoilers unless you go digging in the Piltover & Zaun regions. Universe page: map.leagueoflegends.com If you don't wish to do so, but would still like to learn more, let me know and I'll try my best to give you as much info as I can, while trying to avoid spoilers. I just don't want to overload you with too much information for now.

I'm so glad you started this show, you are in for a wild ride...

SprinkleVerse

I never played League of Legends I don't know anything about its story (≧∀≦)ゞ wow that's a lot of info hahaha Thank you so much for sharing all this! I definitely am gonna have to learn it all while watching 😆 I opened the link and saw the map! it's HUGE! 😮

Tarvo27

Then I will try and see if I can explain things that the show does that might go unnoticed. Luckily the story does take place more or less only in this one region, so it's not too bad.

I had no idea you were gonna start this show! Hope you’re ready for PEAK. Genuinely one of my favorite animated shows of all time

Arcane was released in 3 Parts, 3 episodes per week (all on the same day) and to make us suffer more they made every 3rd episode a climax with a big cliff hanger. So make sure you are prepared for these. Since you said that you will only react to season 2 after the next poll win, you will experience the same suffering after the last episode as us, because season 2 is not as hyped as the first season. The first season is a master piece and the second season is "only" really good and not a master piece.

SprinkleVerse

Oh wow lots of cliffhangers!😆 looking forward to it all ヽ(*≧ω≦)ノ

SprinkleVerse

Looking forward to more episodes ヽ(*≧ω≦)ノ

Love this show looking forward to your reactions!

Sprinkle, this show is great, one of the best I've watched, but please, please, please, no matter how much it makes you curious about the game, NEVER play League of Legends 🤣

Tarvo27

Come on, just one game, how bad could it really be? 😈

Tarvo27

It used to be very toxic, it still is to an extent (in ranked mostly), but otherwise it's actually alright. People do take the game a bit too seriously quite often. If you mute the chat, it's kinda nice though. There's a lot of gamemodes to play, so if you were to play it, you could easily enjoy just some of the more casual gamemodes instead of the sweaty ranked. But, if you're interested in lore, I'd personally recommend playing Legends of Runeterra card game instead. The PvE gamemode is really good and all the cards have a lot of lore tied to it. There are also a few single player games that pushed the lore forward, the biggest one of them being Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. Definitely a recommend from me. I can't deny that watching Arcane makes me want to play League again though lol, it has that effect for sure.
