NOV. 2021 REWARD (Lineart) (Patreon)

If I had a nickel for every time the majority vote for a monthly reward on my Patreon was for a subject who was both from a property owned by a Disney subsidary and also not my first personal choice from the then-current poll slate, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened not just twice, but twice in a row. O_oRegardless, these rewards are for your sake more than mine, so I might as well suck it up and carry on as normal. With that said, by your vote, the subject of this month's reward is Raya, from Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon - a movie I actually got to watch on rental DVD a few months back. This movie is not a personal favorite of mine and there's a few things that could've stood to be improved in terms of its writing, among other things, but it's a beautiful piece of animation and still worth giving a chance if only because Southeast Asian culture needs more representation in popular entertainment. Speaking as someone of Indonesian descent, I can't say said representation was perfect, but the market is sadly so damn sparse here in the U.S. that I suppose I'll take what I can get. Raya herself is lovely in any case, and I don't know if this is the first tickle pic of her on the Internet (and I wouldn't be surprised if R34 of her in general has already been around), but it felt fitting for me to add to the collection of kink stuff involving her. It also felt fitting for me to have Sisu as the tickler, what with her coils, fur, and feather-like tail fins... though I'm sorry to say that I am not a fan of her dragon form's canon design. At all. It just isn't representative of what Southeast Asian dragons look like in traditional artwork - hell, the stylized artwork depicting her in both the opening and in some in-universe illustrations is a lot closer to that style and looks leagues better than Sisu herself - and I really, really wanted her to be able to take on a form more reminiscent of actual naga depictions, but alas, such was not to be. I vacillated between personally redesigning her for this piece or just going with how she looks in the movie, but I had way too little time for that because my Thanksgiving weekend was horribly, unnecessarily stressful for me due to reasons I absolutely do not wish to discuss here, so canon look it was, unfortunately. I might take a few liberties with it still during the coloring phase, but she looks kinda wonky here anyway even in the sketch version of this reward, so it probably doesn't make much of a difference either way. ^^;The final version of this piece will be available on Sunday, December 5!
