Hi everyone, thanks so much for all of your support, and also thanks for enjoying the Rugrats video as much as you have. I keep hitting high on YT Trending for the gaming category and it's all down to you - thank you.

This'll be a quick on; the next video is officially titled 'The Concerning World of Crash Bandicoot Fan Hacks'. Might change the title to 'fan hacks AND mods', but I don't like how that sounds. We'll see.

I may have said before that I'm more than ready to retire Bandicoot Month. My relationship with video games as a medium, as well as Crash himself, has changed drastically over the last few years - and I'm starting to really run out of ideas when it comes to Crash, in particular. I'm very much done with him now lol, and I know for certain what I want to do for the final Crash vid......but I'm not QUITE there yet. The next Crash vid was meant to be 'the final', but then I got a quick shot of inspiration during the Rugrats vid, realised I hadn't actually talked about Crash modding before, and thought 'why not'. One more victory lap, I suppose?

Hopefully, with this being the case, the vid still turns out okay. Stay tuned - I started working on it after the Rugrats vid uploaded, and the gameplay recording and script were finished about 2 days ago. One of the mods required over 11 hours of footage alone. I'll leave you with that, haha

If I may provide a suggestion for the name, I think going with the descriptor of fan projects might work better for what you're going for. It's a more compact way to encompass both hacks and mods.

"The Concerning World of Crash Bandicoot Mods" might work best for the title. As someone who has been neck deep in the ROM hacks and modding scenes for nearly two decades now, I can tell you for free that people tend to grok "game mods" better as a catch-all term better than "fan hacks", there's also the simple fact that YouTube might see the word "hacks" in the title and take issue with it (it's been happening to a lot of gaming and tech channels recently). Otherwise, can't wait to see the video!

sounds exciting! so are these like mods for the original games or does this encase fan games entirely? i know of the nsane trilogy modding scene at least so i can kinda see where you're going with this, though independent crash fan projects as a whole is a different beast entirely. i believe one of the oldest ones was made like 25 years ago and there are a LOT of them. if you end up down that rabbit hole, you might lose your head so be careful. regardless i'm looking forward to whatever you're cooking up for us lol, can't wait :)

(fyi, I'm not taking any offense to anything you've said, I'm just going into more depth!) I have to be fully, completely, honestly transparent about this: I literally don't understand what some people mean when they say that, lol. I can't take it as criticism because I genuinely don't see how it applies, at all. If the word they are looking for is 'dry' or 'slower paced', that would make far more sense, but 'monotone' is just factually incorrect - you would absolutely notice if I did that. It's absolutely fair to say that how I present is far removed from my younger self, which is probably why some people are seeing it as some kind of shellshock - it IS different. But 'low energy' is completely ridiculous. I'm on stimulant medication, lol. I'm still writing, performing and editing all of everything myself - someone with low energy would physically and mentally not be able to do a 3h video about PS1 cheats, or travel hours all over the country for the sake of a 11min fake documentary about frame rates - that assessment of my energy is just false. If the main differences are that I pick and choose more carefully when to be loud or annoying, vs being loud and annoying constantly, then I can definitely see what people mean, and I can't help but see that as a good thing, haha. Regardless of any theories though, the other main thing people are very quick to forget is the simple fact that people change. Not everything has to have a grander secret meaning, it can always be that simple. My sense of humour, my relationship with media, things going on behind the scenes, health, basic aging lol - all of this has rolloff effects on everybody. Sometimes intentional, sometimes not. I can't control what people think of me, all I can do is keep doing what I think is funny and in the way I want to do it. And I can promise you, THAT is all I've ever done, and am continuing to do. If it isn't quite someone's thing anymore, it might very well be that I've outgrown them, I don't know. But I refuse to be less authentic to appeal to other people's view of me or what they'd rather I do. 'Caddicarus' was never supposed to be a character, just me in performance mode - it's not like James Rolfe/AVGN, it's just an extension of myself - so how that performance of myself evolves over time is just how it is.

probably for the best i reckon lmao, the modding community needs more time in the spotlight imo. there's a lot of incredibly impressive (and concering) stuff from them and i can't wait to hear what you think of it all

Man, I can't believe it's been a crazy 8 years of Crash Bandicoot month. It's been a lot since then, from bums to beating Crash Bash 200 percent twice. But when it comes to June, we're devoting it to Crash Bandicoot month. Hope the final Crash Bandicoot video goes with a bang; looking forward to seeing it.
