A problem with a fiveer user (Patreon)

Hello guys

I wanted to share this with all of you because i want to have my reputations has good as it is, so in resume

Few weeks ago i hire someone for helping me with PRGMaker (damn me again with this shit)So everything goes bananas with this guy and now its threatening me about being a scammer or something like that.I left attached all my conversation with this guy from the very beginning to the infuriating end.Please lovely lads, take the time to read and please tell me if i'm wrong.

If i'm, i will definitively paid this guy but i want to see your comments.

Seriously? Wow, that's more than a little pathetic. He was given an explanation of what you really wanted done. he then did something different to what you asked and expects to be paid more for it. Damn that's frustrating

When I first saw Fiveer as a site and the services that can be sold, it felt sketchy. Then you said this guy is a one review filipino rpg maker programmer, say $500 without really seeing or asking details about the nature of the game you're making? Half upfront before he even looks at what they're dealing with? He try to charge you more for something he has already completed but didn't tell you it cost extra? Wtf. In all fairness, he did provide some useful things but the upcharge is scummy.

I'm not a programmer but even i know i have to be upfront about what I'm promising, how it'll be done, and the extra stuff that isn't cover but can be added if it's something they want BEFORE i start making it.

Thanks guys, for a moment I thought that I really was an asshole, but then again thanks for your comments I knew that from the beginning was something sketchy about it but I decided to trust because I usually use fiveer and most of the users really do a good job, but then I one of the most childish mistakes And thanks for the sub reddit! I will check it out ;D

Based on the content of the of your conversations with this guy I can say that although I somewhat understand where this guy is coming from wanting the other half of his money from you for the work he did. However the fact that he didn't bother to tell you about additional costs that weren't originally discussed and expected you to pay for it and even threatened you about it was very unprofessional. I would say that the fault lies mostly with him so don't feel bad about it. Also I noticed that he was very bad at communicating to you about the game and its problems if he had taken the initiative to talk about the situation better than you probably could have avoided the problem altogether.

I am the developer/artist this guy hired. I gave a quotation of 500$ for me to improve the game. 250$ upfront was paid and that was the COST for the improvement of the maps, 17 in total. This is what he said particularly and exactly "I will make the payment right know for to start working in the parallax and getting use to the live2d" The rest would be for the bugs he wanted fixed. The cost for my parallax mapping is in my fiverr gig which he should have checked out since that's where he first contacted me. It was worth more than what he has paid me. He already has the maps. I apologized for not being able to continue any longer as well so I made sure to finish everything in a week's time so as not to inconvenience him further. I also said that he need not pay the rest as I was not able to finish the complete task anyways. Anyways, my point is that you already have the maps, you got more than your money's worth, and I FINISHED HALF of the job which is what you ASKED ME TO DO FIRST & what your initial payment is worth. This guy disputed the transaction in PayPal, putting my account on negative balance. You already have the maps, I already invested my time and effort in making them, this is unfair to me. I said I will let people know about and your game if ever the transaction get reversed, to be fair to me as well.

And to be more fair, I am also willing to make a partial refund of your money as well which is what you requested, even though you already got MORE THAN your money's worth, and even posted about me as well. I haven't posted about you yet. You need only let PayPal know about it since you already escalated the case to a claim, before they can open the refund link to me.

I played the game before I made the quotation and I wasn't charging for more. He was even willing to pay an extra 150$ for me just to continue the job.

But man, if you say that the value of fixing the game is 500 as the first instance and just for making design arrangements you are asking for half, so why you raise the value in the middle of the process for the bugs. Being that you are saying that 500 is the total price would be for the arrangement of the game

Raise the value in the middle of the process where? I did not whatsoever asked for more. He was contented with the maps, but then demanded that I give him a project with the maps on, which entails me fixing the bugs. And he was willing to give me more just for me to continue the project.

And BTW. I was not informed that the game's code/script & eventing would be in Spanish. How do you expect me to understand that? Add to that how poorly written & unorganized it is. At least be considerate with your demands.

man is simple, you make a budget of something, you take all the points and quote them; If you are asking for half to go forward (which in this case are 250), you cannot raise the price to half of the advance, so I saw in the images you were charged 350 when you were with the maps, being that in the first instance it was 250, if you omit something in your delivered budget it is not the fault of the customer ....

He was asking me to fix the bugs and put the parallax, those weren't part of the 250. Anyway, case closed.

2026-10-17 05:00 Amazing game though everyone, I'm sorry to hear about the bad energy what ever happened but keep the dream alive! High quality game and with some polishing it could be around and expand for years to come and i would continue to support!
