"Extra Credit the Muggle Way"
All Individuals depicted are over the age of eighteen and all activities are consensual.
Harry stepped back from the notice board, nodding in satisfaction. He had just put up the advertisement for the trials for the Hogwarts Quidditch team. Cho had set the date to be Saturday week, giving people a week to sign up.
Looking at the rest of the board, he raised a brow at the other recent addition. The Dueling trials were due to begin the coming week as well. According to the note, each year will be able to put forward a team of four, decided by a round robin style tournament.
“If I didn't know that I was going to be pulled into the tournament, I might have been interested in trying out for that…”
As Harry was considering this, he felt a weight fall into his back as a set of dark arms wrapped around his front. “Thinking of signing up, captain?” Angelina asked, seeing what it was he had been looking at.
Harry chuckled. “With the Quidditch tournament needing me? No chance. I assume I will see you and the team at the trials?” he stepped back, the taller girl's arms falling away. When he saw that she was wearing little more than a tight bodysuit with shorts over the bottom, he was thankful that he was getting better at managing his reactions.
“And miss the chance to show the school who the best team truly is? Of course we'll all be there!” here she put her hand on her hips, emphasising her figure nicely. “I know you won't play favourites, though. We'll have to play our best to earn a spot. Which brings me to my next question. Think we can have practice this week before the trials?”
Harry nodded enthusiastically. “I don't see why not. If the other teams aren't taking the opportunity to practice, then it's their loss. I'll speak to Hooch, get us a slot in the week.”
Angelina beamed at him. “Great, I'll tell the other girls” as she turned to head off, she paused. “By the way…you still owe Katie a hair plaiting session. She's looking forward to it, you know.”
Harry smiled and nodded. “Tell her I'll do so. Maybe after the practice session?” Angelina nodded and smiled softer, before heading off.
Harry sighed and dropped his smile. “I don't want to upset Katie…but I'm going to have to be honest with her. I'm already intimate with at least two girls. If she does want to be more than friends…I'll need to let her down gently.”
As he was about to leave, he saw Ron exit the staircase from the dorms. “Well, looky here. You're actually awake in time” Harry joked as his lanky friend strode towards him. “Yeah well, can't always keep Fay waiting…plus, breakfast Harry!”
As the two laughed, Ron's eyes trailed over the noticeboard beside them. “Date set then?” he asked as he saw Harry's note. “Yep…you going to try out? With Wood gone, we needed a goalkeeper anyways. Might as well be for the Hogwarts team, right?” Harry asked.
While Ron had a shaky start to his time on the team, he knew that he could play well so long as he didn't let his nerves get the better of him.
Ron nodded, though he looked apprehensive. “I don't know…I'm in two minds. I mean, the other keepers will be there, right? They have more experience than I do…” Harry clapped his shoulder. “You've been flying with your brother's for years. If that's not experience, I don't know what is.”
Ron nodded, looking a little more confident. “You're right. If I can block Ginny, I can block anyone, right?” Harry chuckled. “That's the spirit. Now, let's eat. I'm hungry too, you know.
As the pair headed towards the portrait hole, Harry missed the lingering look Ron gave the other note on the board…
After a morning of Transfiguration, a hard subject even with a few years extra experience, Harry had to say he was looking forward to his first ever Muggle Studies class.
Not only should it be a breeze for someone who was raised in the Muggle world (the whole reason his other self took the elective in the first place), but it would mean he would also be able to see Tonks once more.
Tonks and Remus had been among the casualties of the attack on Hogwarts.however, it had happened so recently, he hadn't really had a chance to process it. Especially as he had then been marching off to what he had expected to be his own death mere moments later.
Now, with Tonks alive and well, it felt more like a bad dream. Far less distressing than seeing Sirius after three years, at least.
As he entered the class, he was surprised at just how many of his year group had taken this elective. “I had expected only a few, if I'm honest…”
Looking around, he saw that several of his classmates were pureblood as well. “Susan…Greengrass…heck, Pansy is there! What the hell is she doing in the Muggle Studies class?”
Indeed, sitting near the back and looking as stuck up as she often did, Pansy was sneering at him as he looked her way.
“She doesn't seem happy to be here…so why is she?” He was about to go and join Susan and a girl he thought was Su Li from Ravenclaw at their table, but he paused when he saw Neville sat alone to the left of the room.
“I can always catch up with Susan another lesson…” Shrugging, he walked over and slid into the spare seat by Neville. “Hey Nev, how are you?”
Neville nodded. “Good thanks. Ready for class?” Harry nodded. He looked around once more, seeing Pansy now concentrating on the front of the class, her head supported by her hand. “I'm sure previous me knew this, but I'm dying to know more…mm maybe if I'm tactful…”
Harry returned his attention to Neville. “So…it always surprises me how many take this course. Why did you? If you don't mind my asking?”
Neville blinked, before looking bashful. “Er…well, I needed the extra credit. Helps, considering my problems with potions, and all…”
Harry nodded. “Extra credit? I hadn't realized it was worth more than the other electives…”
Neville shrugged. “Only for the Wizarding raised. Purebloods are encouraged to “learn how to interact with the muggle world.” It's why so many have taken this option. It helps when just taking the course gives you a better chance at an O.W.L.”
Harry nodded. “That explains why Pansy is here, I suppose. Greengrass too, most likely. Though clearly the extra credit wasn't enough to lure the likes of Malfoy or Nott.” Looking at the blonde haired beauty sitting near the front of the class, he frowned. “Though I had thought Daphne was close to Hermione in academics…so then why seek extra credit? And also, why didn't Ron take this? I would have thought he would jump at the chance of an easy elective.”
Resolving to ask Ron when he got back to the common room, his attention was drawn to the door that led through to the professor's office opening at the front of the class.
Tonks emerged, and Harry had to stop his jaw from dropping at the sight of her. Tonks the same pixie bob hair he was used to (in a colourful purple this time). But it was here the similarities ended.
Tonks had chosen to use her metamorphmagus abilities to give herself a tall, hourglass figure. This was accentuated by the tight black miniskirt and white crop top she was wearing, leaving her toned midriff bare. Harry was fairly confident she had changed her shape inside the clothes for them to fit, given how tight they were.
She has finished this off with knee high platform boots and elbow length gloves, giving her a punk rocker chick vibe. “I can definitely see the influence in Hermione's choice of clothing, if Tonks is her inspiration.. “
Finally, she had a lot more piercings than the past Tonks he remembered. He could see at least a dozen in various parts of her ears, as well as one either side of her mouth and a couple in her nose. She also had a navel piercing, and Harry suspected that wasn't the end of her body piercings.
A little movement drew his eye to her belly, and he was surprised to see an animated tattoo of a badger shuffling around her belly before disappearing below her skirt's hem. An obvious nod to her previous house. “Moving tattoos…I mean, I guess it's not surprising.”
Tonks strutted towards the front of the class, stopping and cocking her hip to one side. “Ok peeps. Welcome to the first class of term. While I'm sure most of your other teachers have bored you with the importance of the coming years learning, I think you know by now that's not quite how I run things”
Here, she drew her wand from a holster on her hip, before flicking it towards the blackboard. This revealed the words upon it, “Technology. Muggles answer to the lack of magic.”
“Now, last year we mostly covered the reason for why the Statute of Secrecy was placed in the first place, Including the witch trials. As well as the importance of blending in to avoid breaking the statute accidentally, should you find yourself in a muggle setting. This year, I will be touching on why this is becoming much harder, thanks to Muggle advancements. As well as what these advancements could mean for the safety of Magical kind going forwards.”
Pansy scoffed just a little too loud from the back, drawing Tonks' attention to her. “Something to add, miss Parkinson?”
Pansy coloured slightly having been called out. Still, she sat a little straighter and raised her head arrogantly. “I find it hard to believe that Muggles pose a threat to magicals is all, Professor”
Rather than admonish Pansy for her statement, Tonia simply smirked. “And that is why this course is so important. By the end of this year, I hope to have proven how wrong that statement could be…as well as help to prevent you from falling foul of said dangers.”
Tonks then returned to the board, adding a list of five numbers that were currently blank. She then conjured five cards that sat on her desk at the front.
“These cards hold possible dangers that Muggles could pose. I will call some of you up first, and I want you to choose a card. Place it on the board in order of the danger you think it could pose. You may also choose to move a card already on the board, if you wish.”
The class nodded. Harry was rather intrigued…he doubted that Muggle studies went into the possible dangers Muggles could pose when Burbage taught the course.
“Good. Now, why don't you start, Miss Parkinson? Do not worry if you don't recognize the terms, just try your best.”
Pansy looked like she'd rather swallow a dung bomb, but she still stood and approached the front of the class. Looking over the cards, it was clear she wasn't familiar with most. Still, she picked one and immediately put it to the top of the list.
“Vehicles. An interesting choice. Why that, and why first, Pansy?” Tonks asked as she leaned against the desk. Her badger peeked over her skirt hem again, drawing Harry's eye before he returned his attention to Pansy.
Pansy shrugged. “Those are their transport, right? Those metal carriages Muggles use to get around. I guess if someone really wasn't paying attention, getting hit by one could hurt.”
Tonks nodded. “It could. A well reasoned answer, though we will cover why it's a little more complicated than that. Miss Bones, you're next.”
Susan took Pansy's place, briefly looking at the cards before picking one up. She immediately dropped the vehicle's card down one, replacing it with “Firearms”.
This time, Tonks just called the next person up, clearly planning to discuss them at the end. Harry was called up last. The board currently reads: Firearms, Vehicles, Martial Arts and Internet.
“Most of the class probably don't even know what the Internet even is…” He headed up to the desk, nodding at Tonks who smiled at him and gestured to the remaining card. He looked at it and paused. “Really?” he asked, looking up to Tonks’ smirk.
“Well? Where do you think it should go?” Harry grabbed the card, before immediately putting it to the top. “Nukes”.
Tonks stood back up from the table and clapped her hands together. “Good work, all. Now, there wasn't really a “right” answer, as all these could be dangerous.”
Tonks waved her wands and the cards flew off the board into a stack. “We will dedicate a lesson to each of these points, starting from your lowest point to the highest. Then, we will do this again, and see if you still think this is the correct order.”
Tonks turned and clapped her hands. “But, let's not make this all doom and gloom. For the rest of this class, we will discuss the various hobbies that Muggles have, and how they differ from our own.”
The rest of the class was spent talking about various hobbies including board games, movies and videogames. The pictures Tonks had brought from the inside of a movie theatre was of interest to the pure bloods, though Pansy barely deigned to look at it properly.
When the bell rang, they were just wrapping up some Muggle board games. Pansy was the first to gather her things and leave, having sat to the side and refusing to play a game called “Boggle”.
As she exited, she nearly collided with Hermione as she went to enter. “Watch where you're going, Mudblood!” she scowled, before storming off down the corridor.
“Twenty points from Slytherin!” Tonks called. When it was clear that Pansy was already gone, she huffed. “Foul cretin, that one.”
Hermione walked up to the front, shaking her head with a wry smile. “It's fine, she'll have karma at some point, I'm sure.” She stepped up to Tonks, and the two shared a friendly hug.
“Still not right though. Wish I could teach her a proper lesson, but that might be considered bad teaching practice…” Tonks said with a frown, before looking over Hermione's shoulder at Harry waiting for his friend. The smirk she gave him made him nervous…
“Don't you dare risk your job over me ToNKS!” Hermione gasped as Tonks grabbed a handful of her ass as squeezed! She stepped back, blushing and smacking Tonks on the arm.
“Not here, dammit. What will people say?” Hermione scowled. Though she was trying to put in an angry front, her noticeably hard nipples were not fooling anyone.
Tonks just laughed. “Oh relax, the only other student here is Harry, and I doubt he'll be running to McGonagall to tell her I've been feeling up the students.” Here she looked around Hermione at Harry, who was also lightly blushing. He shook his head to show that he, indeed, would not be.
“See? Tell me Harry, have you managed to put on a show for Hermione yet?” she wriggled her eyebrows suggestively. The combination of Harry's blush deepening and Hermione groaning and putting her face in her hands made her chuckle with glee.
“Really? That's a shame…I was going to offer to help. I owe Hermione for her help this summer, after all…”
Harry's brain paused, struggling to process that comment. “Er…you mean…” Tonks just winked, but before she could comment, Hermione grabbed his arm and started leading him towards the door. “Thanks, Nym…now I've got to reboot my friend. Behave, dammit!”
As they left, Tonks blew a kiss. “Look forward to helping out, Hermione!” as the door closed, he heard her laughter from the other side.
The pair walked towards the great hall in silence. Harry glanced at Hermione, her blush slowly receding. Noticing his gaze, she sighed, then shrugged. “Tonks is well aware of my…preferences. I stayed with her this summer, as you know. While there, she would quite often have “friends” over…ones she got very intimate with.”
She paused here, a new flush creeping up her neck. “It was this that made me realise my love of watching, to be honest. I swear, she doesn't know how to cast a silencing charm…”
“Huh…so this was a recent thing?” Harry asked, curious to know more about this version of his friend. Hermione shrugged again. “I think I always did? But this was the first…opportunity to realise it.”
Hermione stopped outside the great hall's doors and turned to look at Harry. She was clearly becoming more comfortable with discussing her preferences due to his acceptance.
“When Tonks caught me looking through the slightly opened door, she simply smirked and fucked her partner harder. I think she gets off on being watched as much as I do the watching. After a heart to heart the next day…she would always leave the door open. Bloody minx” Hermione had a soft smile upon her face. She then gained a more determined expression.
“I've seen Tonks before, so she hasn't been on my list. Especially as she's a teacher here. But if the opportunity arises…I want to see you fuck her, Harry. I want to see you put in her place with your huge cock…will you do that for me?”
Harry gulped, his trousers feeling somewhat tight suddenly. “Er…of course. What are friends for?” he replied, scratching the back of his neck. Hermione smiled, stepping forwards and surprising him with a quick kiss to his cheek. “Thanks, I look forward to the show.” She then strode into the great hall.
Harry looked down at his obvious erection. “I better give it a few minutes before following suit…”
Later that evening saw Harry and Ron playing exploding snap before turning in for the night. It was quiet moments like this that Harry genuinely treasured after the year he had had before returning here.
He looked to his oldest friend, a question from earlier rising to the front of his mind. "Hey, Mate? Out of interest, why didn't you take Muggle Studies? I would have thought the extra credits would appeal to you."
Ron looked up from his cards and shrugged. "I was gonna. It seemed like an easy credit. But...I dunno...I guess all of Dads tinkering put me off a bit? Plus, Bill really made Runes seem interesting. And he was right, even if they are bloody hard to learn..." he grumbled as he played a card.
Harry nodded in acceptance. It made sense, and if he was honest, he kinda wished he had taken Runes himself, the first time around.
He placed his next card down, before looking around the common room. As classes were over and curfew was close, it was full of Gryffindor students relaxing before bed.
It also meant that many of the girls were wearing their casual clothes. Lots of skin was on display, and Harry took the opportunity to enjoy the view.
Hermione, Ginny and Fay were sitting nearby, chatting away about everything from schoolwork to cosmetics. Ginny had taken to putting her feet up on Hermione's lap, something she didn't seem to complain about.
Returning his attention to the game, he realised that despite his distraction, Ron had yet to play a card. Looking up at his friend, he saw him staring contemplatively at the card in his hand. “You ok, mate?”
Ron blinked, then looked up at him. “Oh…yeah. Great. Sorry.” He played his card, still no snap occurring. “You know these cards work on Runes, right?”
Harry shrugged, playing his next card. “I guess…I hadn't really thought about it.”
“We learned to make a set last year. It's just a couple of simple Runes. One for the explosion. One for the repairing of the cards afterwards. And one to trigger it when there's a pair. We use them to learn how to connect runes together.”
He played his card, the first pair of the game, and the two attempted to call snap before it blew up. Harry wins, just.
Ron grumbles. “Damn your reflexes. Anyways, it got me thinking…what if I made cards with different runes in them? Ones with different effects. I could make them do other things when they react, right?”
Harry nodded, shuffling the cards. “Yeah, I suppose. What's your reason for doing so?”
Ron looked at the noticeboard in the corner of the common room, before returning his attention to the stack of cards Harry dealt him.
“I think I've just had an idea, is all. Now get ready, this next round is mine!”
