He has the lowest career strikeout rate in the game, but also one of the best ERAs. Seriously, we're talking about an elite MLB reliever who's all about pitching to contact. In this Baseball Bits, a Foolish Baseball production, we'll learn about what makes Richard Bleier so special. We'll talk about the Richard Bleier Yankees, Richard Bleier Orioles, and Richard Bleier Marlins days. We'll talk about why Richard Bleier might have the MLB best sinker, but also still give props to Zack Britton. Hey, Zack Greinke's in this one too! This channel has a history of celebrating weird baseball players like Locastro and Mathis, and I think Richard Bleier deserves a spot in that conversation. He's a throwback! Just an elite sinkerballer and groundball pitcher carving his way through the juiced ball, Statcast era. ___________________________________________________ Bleier's Savant Page: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/richard-bleier-542947 Justin Choi on Bleier: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/richard-bleier-is-striking-out-batters-now/ Greinke on FIP: https://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/18/sports/baseball/18pitcher.html Soundtrack from Maxo: https://soundcloud.com/maxoelectronic https://maxoisnuts.bandcamp.com/
