We're back baby! Submit your questions for this month's video Q&A, and I'll be back to respond to them in the middle of the month. Keep in mind that the World Series will be well over by the time I get around to recording, but the offseason will be fresh and new with tons of free agents and the CBA to discuss.

Previous Q&A's can be viewed in this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3lJFzNSaN7SE7AAWRLGyfnf4S2oONOm-

Hey Bailey, recently had to sub to your patreon because FB made me fall back in love with baseball during a difficult time. I hope you keep making amazing content for years to come! My question is regarding Ozzie Albies and his switch hitting. We just saw how Cedric Mullins had an amazing year after dropping switch hitting, and that seems to be something Ozzie could benefit from considering how much better he hits from the right side. Do you think this could help make him an even better player, or should he keep the tool of switch hitting? Thank you very much for the content again.

Greetings FB. Can you make the case that Frank Schwindel's success at the plate is sustainable going forward? How about the case that it isn't?

Chris Collum

Regardless of whether Bailey's Braves (TM) pull off the win in this series, do you think Atlanta's success this year will affect how GMs/FOs of "meh" teams approach the trade deadline going forward? I think most GMs would have done a light sell at the deadline if they were in Anthopoulos' position with Soroka/Acuña out, the Ozuna situation, and the team performing pretty poorly. Obviously he went shopping instead. Would be interesting if GMs were more willing to buy on behalf of a borderline team in the future, hoping to accomplish something like what the 2021 Braves have done. Edit 11/3/21: Oh look they won, congrats! And one of said deadline acquisitions was the WS MVP...

We’re all aware of the SS FA market for this offseason. At what position(s) do you think there are a lack of quality guys, creating potential overpays?

SmoothCriminal12

If the Mets had to choose between signing Nick Castellanos or Starling Marte, who would be the better fit?

Sean

Who set themselves up nicely for AL and NL comeback player next season?

Max Greineder

Will players like Jarred Kelenic, Logan Gilbert, and Julio Rodriguez develop?? And how will it impact the upcoming M's season?

Bread

You’re interning as an associate baseball god. It is game 7 of the World Series between two most popular teams in MLB. Past 6 games have all been close and exciting games between them, and a lot of people are going to watch this game. This is a perfect opportunity to make baseball more popular. Unfortunately, all the other baseball gods caught COVID-19, so they can’t be in the World Series due to quarantine. You, alone, are tasked to manufacture the most exciting game 7 of the World Series, one that will put even game 7 of the 2016 World Series to shame. What do you do?

Michael Piazza

In the battle of handsome former NL MVPs, who do you think turns it around first, Cody Bellinger or Christian Yelich? If your opinion is neither, who would you say has the higher ceiling?

Jared Natsis

Am I an old man or are these games just starting too dang late? If MLB is actually interested in marketing to the future generations, I feel like it might be a good idea to have World Series games actually have first pitch before kids have gone to bed.

Wyatt Huggins

What is something you really enjoyed about this postseason and something that you weren’t crazy about? Loving all the content lately Bailey!

Sibbypow

Baseball in Australia isn't too popular however the ABL (Australian Baseball League) is growing. I've done work with the Melbourne Aces whom have former MLB players such as Delmon Young and Gift Ngoepe and as a Braves fan you would know Acuna also played for them. Last Season the Brewers agreed on a partnership with the Brisbane Bandits and I think the Blue Jays have a partnership with Canberra . My question for you is that do you think that more MLB teams should invest in establishing partnerships during the MLB offseason with teams in international leagues? Not only for the development of the the minor leaguers but to help grow baseball leagues around the world not only in Australia both potentially in popularity as well as the quality of the players coming out of the country.

Ethan

Who do you think will have the best season of the free-agent shortstops next year?

Mitchell Israel

Carlos Correa. Marcus Semien. Trevor Story. Corey Seager. Javier Baez. Who signs where, how long, and for how much money?

Trevin Susanto

Will the make up of this year free agent class change how fast and how much money the top free agents signs for compared to recent free agency?

Brandon Perez

Hi Bailey! I was wondering what you consider a sample size with merit for looking at individual seasons. Is it a number of innings for pitchers and plate appearances for batters or does it go beyond just those basic numbers?

ajnrules

Well Justin Verlander has missed the entire 2021 season in his recovery from Tommy John surgery, and I'm sure that was a major blow to his already-slim chances at 300 wins. With that being said, how foolish (on a scale of 0 and 300) is it for me to try to memorize the wins of the last pitcher to win 300 games: Randy Johnson? (By this I mean commit to memory the date, the final score, and the losing pitchers of each of those wins.)

Josh Duncan

Two questions about roughly the same thing. If you were Perry minasian who do you go after this off-season pitching wise, there’s a lot of options but the angels don’t exactly have a great track record in this department? Secondly how long would you give it before moving trout to a corner outfield spot? Marsh was good defensively in his absence and looks to have gotten more comfortable at the plate towards the end of last season

navman32

Still feels a bit crazy to say out loud, but what do you think are the chances Scherzer ends up with the better career than Kershaw when it's all said and done? Kershaw still has the advantage of age and I think a better peak, but Scherzer's catching up pretty fast career WAR wise and has been a lot more durable than Kershaw over the last half decade.

Dan Russell (Bolly)

Hi Bailey, I'm writing this before game 6 so I wish you and your Braves the best of luck. In your opinion, is the Rays ‘sister city’ plan actually tenable? And as an aside, given the Alameda County Board of Supervisors vote to support the A's Howard Terminal project, is relocation and/or league expansion on the cards once the Rays' tenancy expires in 2027?

Alex Chee

Is BWar or FWar better to use when evaluating position players and why? The same question goes for pitchers as well.

Jackson Ingram

favorite starting pitcher for the Marlins next season?

Tom Landry Jackson

Congrats on your team winning the thing man happy for you.

Max T

Hey Bailey, do you think Salvador Perez’s 2021 might be overrated? Obviously the homers and rbis are there, but when you go a little deeper, his numbers aren’t as great as you'd think, especially since he barely walks. When you factor in defence, I’d say buster posey had a better year. What do you think?

Eli Presberg

Whats your favorite example of an old-school piece of baseball coaching/strategy to be destroyed by analytics, and one vindicated by analytics?

preston hansen

How do you think robo-umps would change development/scouting/etc for catchers? Would we see more guys who otherwise might be 1B/DH types back there? Or is the non-framing defensive value still big enough for things to stay mostly the same?

Troy Lahrman

Which analytical stat if any do you think will start to grow in prominence and relevance over the next couple of MLB seasons?

Alex W

What's your opinion on the tomahawk chop? Do you ever do it at games?

Bo Brown

If you took an All Star team from any given year and had them play a full 162 that same year do you think they would consistently win 120+?

Jeremy Jones

How would you feel about abolishing divisions? A lot of people have suggested reseeding the playoffs but I feel like in 2022 it might be a good idea to do away with divisions altogether and have the 5 best teams in the AL and NL make the playoffs. It would also allow for teams to play more games in other markets. Do we really need the Orioles and the Rays to play 19 times a year? Just wanted to know your thoughts on divisional changes, especially with the potential 31st and 32nd teams coming someday

Keegan Tatum

You are transported back to the year 1948. Your task is to rebuild an MLB team that more resembles a dumpster fire than a winning ball club. What Negro League players that never played a game in MLB would you try to sign?

Paul

Hey Foolish, There’s a decent chance I’ll be relocating to Germany for work in the coming months. I’ve lived and worked in Europe before, but I’ve never even visited Germany. Any advice or tips about the culture?

Henry Wood

I just looked and Carlos Correa has 34.1 career WAR. Is it just me or is he quietly having a HOF career?

voteforsanpedro

With posey retiring and lots of pitchers becoming free agents, is 2021 reproducible for SF?

logan smith

Hey Bailey, I have two questions if that is okay. Firstly who are some of your favorite catching prospects that aren't at the very top of the list (excluding guys like Rutschman and Alvarez). Secondly what type of year do you expect Joey Bart to have in place of Buster Posey this upcoming season? Thanks Bailey :)

teeballer25

Do you think that there's a real difference in teams built for the regular season vs teams built for the playoffs?

Leo Thomas

Should a player who steals a high number of bases, but at a rate low enough to suggest they are costing their team runs (i.e. below 75%), be lauded for it? Sort of like Ohtani going 26 for 36 this year, even if he's a special case

Nolan McDermott

Hey Bailey, I’ve recently been obsessed with making video compilations from baseball savant (the 4 barrel club for example) Is there anything you would be interested in seeing?

Grant

The year is 1899. You are working in the general store in downtown Cleveland. Frank Robison walks in, glances around the store, then looks at you. "You play ball kid?" He asks. He wants to sign you to play for the Cleveland Spiders. What position do you tell him you can play? Also, do you eventually play well enough to leave the Spiders?

Josh Getto

Is expected pitcher wins (xWins) a stat anyone records/calculates, and if so similar to the anti-degrom baseball bits, who has the biggest gap between actual and expected wins in the last 5 years?

runrin

Can you please explain UZR, DRS, and OAA to me in the context of Crawford winning the Gold Glove over Lindor this year? Are there other stats that can help inform that decision? People on my timeline were talking about it and I realized I have no idea how any of those stats really work...

Landon Poon

Do you think pitchers that were known sticky-stuff users should be barred from the Hall if steroid users are going to be? Do you think we should let all of them (steroid users and stick-stuff users) or would you have a different way of evaluating those players if you were a voter? Do you think precedent for who makes the Hall is less important than making the correct decision in the present?

Matt Gilman

In your opinion who should win the AL and NL Cy Young?

Harry Lewis

Who wins the AL West in 2022?

Jason Timmerman

Is Keith Hernandez deserving of a spot in the hall of fame?

Brian Cashman

Hey Bailey, congrats on the Braves win! I have two questions. 1. How do you feel about Barstool partnering with MLB? 2. What are some other interests that you have? I noticed a copy of the Worldly Philosophers on your shelf, and that spiked the question. Thanks!

Julia Lee

Which ten players of the past fifty years do you think will remain most well known/remembered fifty years from now?
