I was only taught the bare bones of history in terms of Romans And i always confused the Ancient Greek and Romans as one or the other but they were like neighboring republics/ empires right?

Very rarely but sometimes when I'm standing in line with others and someone starts holding up the line I wonder if it would be easy to convince the other members of the line to give the person stalling the Caesar treatment lol.

And Rome did adopt a lot of greek things too. Just need to compare their pantheons and mythologies. Zeus became Jupiter, Ares became Mars, Heracles became Hercules...

Pretty much, yes. Trying to pretend that they weren't is stupid, especially saying "like Spain and Sweden", Greece and Rome are *far* closer than that both geographically and culturally.
