How long did it take to print?

Jorge Zaragoza

super cool. what layer height did you use?

themakerscult

anycubic green - 0.04 layer height-10 seconds layer exposure - 8 base layers - 100 seconds base l;ayers. hope that helps

i did 2 prints, first was 4 hours, second was 4 hours. this is because i had to print the base as well which took up a lot of room on the build plate. usually i recommend buying 3rd part bases to save time and money. from a store like this <a href="https://wargamebase.aliexpress.com/store/2062028?spm=2114.10010108.100005.1.2335150eK3DngB" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://wargamebase.aliexpress.com/store/2062028?spm=2114.10010108.100005.1.2335150eK3DngB</a>

Thanks for confirming! Im still a little intimidated by setting my photon up, but knowing I can get something like that out in 8 hours helps so I wont need to leave it overnight.

Did you print as a single piece or in multiple pieces?

Richard Fortuna

The Photon is SUPER fast and easy compared to FDM, IMHO. Plus, since you’re dealing with light instead of heat, there’s not nearly the same risk of fire hazard or something like that to worry you about running it overnight. Even when I’ve had a misprint or the print falls off the plate, you usually won’t know it until it’s done and even then, you’ll just have to scrape a little hardened resin off your FEP film. It’s actually not nearly as difficult to fix that than a FDM printer. I have had misprints that resulted in having to rebuild the whole print head, so after that, the Photon is a breeze! Just make sure you ventilate your room well. I added an exhaust fan in the window of the room I run it in. That plus a ceiling fan is pretty much all I needed to keep the smell contained. The Isopropyl Alcohol actually stinks worse than the resin.

multiple pieces every time. don't attempt printing as a whole, it was made to be printed in parts.

Good tip. When I saw you included the one-piece, I was tempted to give it a shot...
