Hello, welcome back to another month at TMC :D you'll be glad to know the first lot of goodies are online and ready to download. With more to come in the middle of the month!

How to Download

Go to the website, and use the "Patreon" button under the Sign-in prompt. You will then be requested to allow 'Comics Games and Things' website to access your patreon public information. This step is necessary to link your patreon account with the download platform. Click on "Allow".

After that you should see November's downloads listed under your account. 

In addition, we've gotten October and September uploaded as well for those of you who were patrons in those months.

If there's any trouble, or you don't see the downloads, please let us know by PM and If we can't figure it out with our site expert, we will get a google drive link for you.

If everything goes well, we should have the entire backlog added to the site over the course of a few months, so users can select and download models at their own leisure. That means you won't have to worry about missed downloads !

Note: This is our first large scale test of this platform, so please be patient and forgiving if there are some technical issues. We will do our best to make this work. 

Note2: It only works on computer. Don't try to log with phone or tablet.

Note 3:  If you're having trouble, try disabling any pop up blockers for the site. that might fix it.

Cannot get this site to work with my patreon, it's linked to some other empty patreon account and I haven't been able to get it resovled. Any chance of an alternate download?

Just on the sales. We participate in the cgtrader seasonal sale offs in Feb, June, and Oct. We also do patron sales at milestones, (1500, 2000 ect)

Yes to both. This is just a large scale test for the downloads and patron access to older files.

Soon we should have sort by date / line and month options, but this is our first big download test. I'm glad it's working :)

I am having the same problem on Chrome, Windows. No downloads working at all. Whole site is very, very slow too.

Oh for reference this appears to be happening when I use the "download folder" Options. Firefox has the tab crash while Chrome is just hanging at 100% when it compresses. If I use expand and download individual files it seems to work, though I haven't downloaded much that way.

It should cache the file and compress it to a zip file, that takes a bit of time. There is a counter in place of the button after you press it. Watch that to make sure it hits 100% then it should appear in your download folder. Note: Some of us are experiencing freezing or browser crashes with the downloads. I think they are trying to figure out why so if that's the issue you may need to be patient.

Speed upgrades will hopefully be coming soon, its only running off one server right now.

This may be overexertion or issues with the compression process. It can be slightly taxing on the computer and we may look into alternate download options. Can you try smaller downloads?

no? I don't see file size when its a folder I'm downloading. I can download individual files one at a time just fine. It's just the download folder option that crashes or freezes for me. I restarted my computer and it still happens. Switched to my laptop from my desktop and it still happens. I'm not sure but it could be a network issue somewhere between CGT and my computer. I'll wait a couple days and try downloading the files again to see if its just a temporary thing.

Hmmm, I tried setting up my account... It was showing me all the available downloads even before I linked my patreon account? Linked it anyhow and still see the same download options? It also doesn't seem to want to allow me to download anything? I'm not seeing any way to download everything in a single archive like I used to be able to do? When I clicked on legion master otto w/ the "download all" button it didn't really work at all :\ It downloaded some text file but that's it? It says on the website that "download all done" for both legion master otto and the cronus captain? All that actually downloaded though is the text file for legion master otto? No clue what's going on :\ I'm not sure I really like this vs google drive downloads if I'm going to have to go through and download everything individually instead of just making an archive of the full set of releases and downloading that. I'm sure you can fix the part about it not downloading properly but its a definite nuisance having to go through each set of files and download each as a separate archive :\

further note, i just looked in my downloads folder... I didn't see anything about a text file associated with legion master otto on the webpage. When I checked out the odd text file that appeared somehow, it says its 112 mb? I've never heard of any document/text file coming close to that size? Opened the text file, doesn't show any text? When I went to close notepad i got a message saying notepad wasn't responding. I changed the extension to ".zip" and was able to open it as an archive and it looks like it has the correct contents. The cronus captain didn't download at all in any way, shape, or form :\ It shows on the website that the download completed but i have nothing on my pc, not even a text file?

Well all of that is exceedingly weird. Let me get back to you. In future updates you will be able to download an entire months models in an archive, but this is all mostly a test.

I don't mean to sound rude, but if that's the case how do you view or print the files? When we set this up it honestly never occurred to any of us that there would be mobile only users. Is there a slicer program that works on mobile now? If so we'll have to make some changes to the site.

Any pop-up blocking software will prevent the download, just disabled pop-up blocker and everything works. Might help some of you.

Hello. Please understand that this site has worked so far in all small batch testing we have preformed on it. This is the first major test with a large number of users using entirely different systems and browsers.

That's somewhat unusual. There must be some issue with your permissions. let me see what I can do. By any chance did you use a different email for the website as when you signed up for patreon? that has been a common issue today.

When I read I am forced to use a new platform without even knowing I said - ok, try it, before beeing angry and before writing something, but having the feeling beeing used as a tester without even knowing just feels not right.... sorry I have to say that

Sorry about that. We have had several users reporting crashes when downloading the Abyssal hybrids or the Bk&TL parts pack, using Firefox. These 2 packs are quite heavy. Chrome and edge handle it with no issue.

I'm also not fond of how, at present, it mixes previous releases in with the new releases and doesn't have an option to bulk download the entire month's releases at once for easy organizational purposes.

OK. That's a good reason. We'll have to work on mobile compatibility in that case. In the meantime here are a collections of browsers rated by how well they work with the site. Go ahead and give some of the mobile ones a try and we'll see if we can get full mobile support in the next day or so. https://caniuse.com/sharedworkers

I have been having issues downloading the Vespaxii. Every time I queue it up, it takes a while, then the tab crashes. I've tried different browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Edge).

But to clarify my angerness, I am really angry for beeing used as a platform tester without even knowing. No communication was made, no announcement, at least I havent found one. This is no good BP. Would you have asked: "Dear Patreons, we have an idea, something new is coming, blabla etc. etc. Would you be so kind and test this out with us? For shure you can download your files on the normal way, till everything works properly." I would have been fine with that and would have helped you out with all the feedback you would have needed. But beeing forced using a new Platform together with being used as a product tester without even knowing is a no go. Sorry I have to say that.

File recovery. We often have to provide 200+ additional links to individuals every month for those who missed the download , had an error with the files or a hard drive failure. In addition, the site supports it's own storefront which can not only add items to your account, but we can price cheaper as we don't have to pay cgtrader. A good portion of international users have difficulty getting google drive to work as well, so we always had to distribute additional links anyway.

We're hearing from users that If you rename the downloaded .txt files to .zip they'll still extract and work. We're trying to find out what the change was that caused the files to be listed incorrectly. We should have it fixed soon.

I do not want to link my Patreon account to 'Comics Games and Things'. I have no idea what that is. Why not provide files on Google Drive as well? If I miss the files that month. I probably did not care enough anyway.

If you would like you can create a new account instead of linking your current one. As long as you use the same email you used to sign up for patreon that will work just fine. As who these people are, it's us. this is a site we have been helping to develop and working on for several months now.

It save it as .txt like before, but changing the extension in .zip has solved the problem. You have to convert all to .zip i guess.

Hello, we've had some feedback from brand new users that the download does not show up immediately. This is do to a status refresh issue on patreon's end and we're working on a way around it. In the meantime give it about an hour or so and try again. If it doesn't work, let me know and there are a few other things we can try, or I can PM you a drive link.

Will this system be set up to cover a user's entire catalogue. IE: Would I be able to download the Supertank variants if, say, my HD with all my STLs crashed while copying and everything for months was lost? (yes, that was very specific) If so, you will likely never lose me as a Patreon.

ok i have now downloaded everything. the download took a total of over 20 hours and demanded a lot of my patience, if that doesn't change next month I'll stop here... Googledrive was already slow but this is unreasonable. and each download has to be started individually so that it doesn't break off, so you have to be on your PC all the time

Man this site is a mess to use :D Everything is mixed up, guest files from last month show up before the guest from this month, I'm not even sure that I can see all the current month files... Just a tip for ease of finding what is what and from when: If you could categorize the files by release month, it would be very very helpful. If tags are available, a tag for the month and a tag for the army (TL, BK, Valour Korps etc.) would be even more useful. Keep up the good work and good luck resolving the inevitable glitches.

Has anyone been able to download the TL/ BK- Weapon and accessories Pack? I've tried three times and each time it gets to "Compressing 100%" but the the window to download the file never appears. This is on firefox.

Further to my last, not only is it inconvenient to download each separately, now that I can get it working, it is a glacial process for each file to download (the most glacial of all the services/providers that I have had the pleasure of collecting). Not a winner in my books.

the TL/BK weapon & accessory pack won't download as a complete file for me on Chrome, I had to download it as separate parts, which made the already slow process even slower

The guns are separate in the folder: Weapons - Base Models- No arms. Arms are available on the discord in the derivative channel.

Same problem here. Got to 100% after several hours, but no Dev console on Chrome says "Uncaught (in promise) RangeError: Array buffer allocation failed" somewhere in download_engine.js. I assume this is your biggest download, probably some internal time limit on the compressing stream.

What is the timeline for having monthly download packs available? Asking users to download separate files each month is unwieldy and I'm holding off until the November pack is released. If it's going to be long, can we somehow maintain the bulk download options on Google drive until that's implemented?
