Dean Scream 717

Semi-hot take: It wasn't a good movie, but it also wasn't AS bad as everyone made it out to be. Like, it was bad, but it had a couple of cool scenes and was at least entertaining to watch. It at least wasn't as bad as Morbius, which had zero redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Teresa Briann Lohr

Well I didn't want to see it because I heard how awful it was.... From your descriptions I now have to watch this train wreck. Lol

Dean Scream 717

Should probably provide the disclaimer that I watched the movie when I was not sober, however. 😆

Charles Q. Choi

So who did provide the voice for the last poem?

Tree

Wonderful.

Saw it in theatres and fell asleep for 30 minutes or so in the middle. By the end of the film, I was wishing I had slept through more of it xD

Madam Web. Your judgement; dread! Dredd. Judge Dredd? I am the law?! Ready like Bonesaw! Bonesaw McGraw. Couldn't be in this movie. But I got ya for three minutes, like your mom when she knew me! Happy birthday to Adal, who's the duke of rap battle. As in Marma-duke, thinks he's people. And that's adorable as craple! Yeah, that's right, I said it. What we all were all thinking! He may talk like a man, but have you ever seen him blinking? ....A man made of tires, I'm tellin' you he's a man made of tires!

When they were taking about Weymouth I realized I had heard of it before and then I realized where I heard of it was Hey Riddle Riddle (I think the Rob Corddry episode)

I am low-key obsessed with this movie. It's so, so bad, but not necessarily any worse than the Morbiouses or Eternals of the world, and I think some of that is misogynistic backlash. That being said: this movie is alluringly terrible in a way that is, as the killer from Se7en said of his crimes, "going to be puzzled over and studied and followed... forever." This is not a new phenomenon either -- sure there are Sharknados, but big studios have been releasing absolute clinkers for decades. Howard The Duck had huge financial backing, was written by the woman that did all the (uncredited) punch-up for Star Wars, and broke even...but sucked so, so, so hard. This is a clear case of a movie having individually acceptable ingredients assembled by stockholders that think The Big Bang Theory is peak TV.

That Morgan Freeman slip up was the perfect climax to the episode

I am sure y’all wouldn’t want to do this cuz it would be exhausting, but I would happily listen to 3+ hours of you all picking apart bad movies. This ep had me cackling 😂 I downloaded the movie to watch and just finished it. I THOUGHT YOU WERE JOKING ABOUT THE PEPSI SIGN. Good lord

Michaela Jantzen

I liked MW better than Eternals honestly. It wasn’t better, but it was easier to laugh at how bad it was

Laura Brun

love this episode but please next time get Casey to eat the grapes DURING the episode we want to hear sleepo struggle in real-time pls

Erin's poem was incredible and now I really want to see her do a Rap for Daddy where she gets time to prepare. Just to test her capabilities.

Super late comment but i havent seen anyone else comment it yet and JPC has mentioned it a few times in review crews so wanted to comment about it. When a movie reports how much money it made, thats just the bulk sales and does not factor in the cuts that the movie theaters get. Usually for domestic showings, the studio only sees 50% of the money, even less for foreign box offices. Additionally, the budget does not include any marketing, which is usually between 50%-75% of the production budget depending on the movie. So in most cases, the movie's box office needs to be twice as much as the budget or more just to not lose money, which is why you see movies like this that at first glance made their money back but get discussed as major losses.

I listen to this once a week.
