If you like riddles and improvised scenes inspired by those riddles, then this is the episode for you! Because today, we do them. Riddles, I mean. Sure, it's not a lot of them, but they are riddles and they do get done. And then scenes happen shortly after! The premise for the podcast completes itself.

Opening lyrics of What I Am by Erin Brickell & New Bohemians are 'i'm not aware of too many things', for the longest time i thought the lyrics were 'i'm not scared of skibidibi' like weird scatting that's also a precursor to skibidi toilet? and then I heard it 'right' and believed it was 'i'm not scared of material things'. had a journey with that song. never made a lick if sense

out of all my expectations i have for this show i could not have anticipated JPC to call Erin hitler lmao

My mom didn’t know beta fish killed everything and put one in a tank with 8 goldfish. The beta literally ATE all the goldfish and then lived by itself for 10+ years.

Hannah Cohen

We literally woke up to fish skeletons in the tank. 💀

Shit stirrer

If you could stop bullying Erin that’d be great.

Okay, alright, now you got me started. So, aquariums. 1) people over-clean their aquariums. There's no reason to regularly take all the fish out and clean the tank top to bottom. In fact, doing this kills all the beneficial bacteria that breaks down the ammonia (piss poison). I think this is why so many people have a hard time keeping fish alive. This is called the nitrogen cycle and maintenence is pretty easy once you have it established. Wipe the glass to keep algae away and I do a 10% water change each week, but people agree every 2 weeks is fine. 2) fish absolutely have personality once their home is safe and healthy! Khuli Loaches are a bunch of silly noodles that share a single brain cell and love to glass surf. Apistos are assholes and will fight YOU. My Turkish killifish will jump out of the water to take food from my hand. My mom's Betta swims up to her (and only her) for pets. And thats just regular behavior. If you're a fish pervert like me, you also keep some breeding pairs to watch them raise their fry! Sometimes this is just them doing a pretty dance and laying eggs, other times there's some real parenting action. Some bettas hold their eggs in their mouths until they hatch and I think it's angel fish babies that swim so close to their parents they look like a little coat.

GayWeiner420

And thats not even talking about all the snails and shrimps and dwarf frogs of it all OR all the cool aquatic plants you can keep! Check out a Madagascar Lace plant and tell me thats not cool!

GayWeiner420

Heartbreakingly metal 😭🤘 Also, if you ever want to try a betta again, many of them are okay with tankmates as long as they aren't too flashy. There are wild type bettas that have more peaceful nature too

Klompus Smith

I 100% agree with Erin. Broden Kelly’s (from Aunty Donna) Ben Mendlesohn impression is iconic. I am so psyched to hear she is a fan, I would love to see her on MUGG!

Catelise

Huh, funny. It's also my dream for Erin to go on the Most Upsetting Guessing Game.

James Lewis

Love the Aunty Donna mention!

Adin A

Early on in Green Day’s Jesus of Suburbia, instead of hearing “Soda pop and Ritalin, no one ever died for my sins in hell” I heard “Soda pop and Ritalin, Now I don’t have a dental plan since I fell”

Dean Scream 717

I also love Aunty Donna! I found their Netflix show recently and I thought it would be dumb but I wound up cracking up at every episode. They're so funny.

Chad Chidester

Shaking my head and shouting Weekend at Bernies facts at my phone

Zwish King

I’m hoping next time Erin googles, they bring back the “smoke the whole pack” technique that gave us ‘most sharks do not fart’. that’s been my favorite consequence.

nature

lmao luv erin sm

Everything's a drum!🥁

The Voicemail theme this week had me choking on breakfast this morning lol

Evan Vollmer

I love my aquariums at home because it's 1) a way to focus some energy and love into keeping something alive and happy and healthy, and 2) there's something calming about watching fish swim around and having a low rumble of a filter running all the time! I've got a blood parrot cichlid named Quincy and a dinosaur bechier named Beocca, and they'll both be around for a good 10-15 years!

Matthew

“G’day Mate, you haven’t been talking to the cops, have ya Mate?”— Ben Mendelsohn

Lawson Bear

Adal! that's the wrong sigur ros album! the melody you sang is from ágætis byrjun, not takk...

riss

Jellicles can and Jellicles do 😼

Lizzi

My gramma used to sing solos in church a lot and when she got in the middle of a song and forgot the lyrics she would just make something up. But only like… a couple of us really noticed. She was a pretty smooth criminal. lol

Jeremy Downs

I LOVE MY FISH!!! Once you get the water down they’re so easy to take care of! Koi are my favorite

Brittany Shafis

When we were in Japan, there was a Koi exhibit in the park near a museum. Some of those dudes were absolutely massive and they were beautiful.
