Movie novelizations were my jam when I was a pre-tween in the late 80s. In the last few years I've found a few old and used novelizations that I've bought: Poltergeist, The Thing, Halloween 3, The Fog and Gremlins. I'd have more, but the classics from that era run close to $100. In and after the 90s, they became more a part of the marketing campaign and lost a lot of their cachet, kitsch and camp value. For example, there's a novelization of The Phantom fucking Menace.

Re: exposition: I recently went back and watched the first episode of Totally Spies after remembering it fondly. There is NO exposition in that first episode! No mention at all for how three teen girls became spies! They just go right in on that wild premise. So I guess a product of their time. (I will say when I watched Steven Universe, I was surprised by how little exposition there was! More than these two shows, definitely, and it was to me a good, slow build of world building, but also interesting)

If you like the theme song to Dinosaucers, might I recommend the theme song to King Arthur and the Knights of Justice. Probably one of the greatest.

I'm so delighted by JPC scarfing pie and Googling lore on-mic. (Are we still in the year of not Googling? Or is that over now? Either way,) I've said it before, but as a fellow exhausted parent who just wants their goddamn fair share of the sweet treat, the relatable host is increasingly JPC.

To answer JPC's question about Once Upon in Hollywood and a foot fetish. Quentin Tarantino goes into detail about a foot-job fantasy. It happens pretty late in the book

DrewishKing

Laughed very hard when listened to the theme song multiple times

The most terrible thing about Terrible Dactyl is that they don't spell their name with a P.

I’ve been playing Expedition 33 and it’s had me thinking about how much impact the music in a piece of media can have in setting the tone and elevating the emotional stakes and investment in storytelling. And it seems like whoever did the Dinosaucers theme understood this very well, because that shit slaps so hard. Every time it starts playing this episode I feel energized and enthusiastic about everything.

Top dollar review crew episode, great work y’all. Thomas was a lovely return guest, his sweet energy works splendidly with home crew’s chaos.

Skyler

There is an acapella cover of the Dinosaucers theme on Spotify.

Thomas Degroat

This episode was so close to turning into The Sweater Part II: The Pie

Can we PLEASE get some retro-looking Dinosaucers x HRR merch? I would buy it

Thomas

This was such a blast to be a part of as always!! Also, I realized after listening to the theme song so much throughout this episode, it kinda sounds like 🎶 Dino Soft Serveeeeee 🎶

Altrucel

Thomas sounds just like Bo Burnham
