complwtely agree that US roadtrips are underrated. i lived out of my car for 10 weeks earlier this year and then best hidden gem i found was in the middle of Nowhere, Kansas (actually called Lucas, KS) where this incredible woman has the *takes big breath* Worlds Largest Collection of the Worlds Smallest Version of the Worlds Largest Objects. Basically, she travelled all over the country visiting World’s Largest venues and making minis of them and made a big collection. It’s incredible and FREE and Lucas is an awesome town anyway, it has grassroots artists collective in an otherwise redneck seeming county. Adal would love to

I agree that cars are dangerous and there should be more protections in place to limit dangerous driving (such as the driving tests for the elderly), BUT if we do that then we really need to also get our shit together and invest BIG in public transportation. Because the US is built purposefully so that, unless you live in a metropolitan area with subways, you basically need to be able to drive and own a car in order to survive. Everything is so spaced out and there's no way for people to get to jobs/stores except driving in most of the country, so if we start restricting people's ability to drive, that needs to change first.

Listening to the cavalier way they talk about the new hurdles everyone should have to jump to not have their licenses taken away more reminded me that all three hosts are from cities that have some level of walkability/public transportation. I went to a Quaker hs and we had co-op jobs all freshmen have to work at dish return their first year, you can always tell when someone transfers later bc everyone else makes sure their plate is scraped clean bc we are friends with the kitchen staff, and we have worked that job.

You stumble feverishly through your morning routine and decide, as you’re making coffee, to start up a podcast episode. And it’s…this.
