Since Adal and JPC's fates are in our collective hands, I'm just gonna say that I thought that Adal's calendar was very nice (and, of course, congrats!). He may have only done 20 days, but the discussion about his different pre-fatherhood tasks was a delight to hear and the highlight of the episode for me personally. JPC's calendar totally counts for the assignment, imo, but the fact that his movies were all secret did mean that discussion about it was a bit limited. But Advent calendars are kinda supposed to be a surprise for each day, so I don't think he loses points for that. And the discussion about the movies was fun anyway. All told it was a fun episode to listen to and I think they both did good, but I am sorry that Erin didn't get what she was looking for out of the concept. I hope that we can get some crystal healing or other bullshit like that on the poll again in the future bc it sounds fun.

ASL resource I love: lifeprint.com (specifically the dictionary) Also liok at at Bill Vicars YouTube playlists (guy who runs life print) - looks like he has a good Parent sign language video!! I don't love the ASL bloom app (the android one is buggy AF, though the dictionary is nice) I've heard great things about the lingvano app but have yet to try Big recommendation: whereever you end up learning, try to find resources run by deaf people over hearing!!

Congrats Jemma and Adal omg I'm so excited! For what it's worth, I think Adal and JPC completely fulfilled the assignment and crafted their really fun advent calendar! What I think might have been at the heart of Erin's complaint is the share-ability of some of these products. A movie or TV episode is just a lot more shareable, whereas a craft (analog or digital) is much harder to describe. I think this goes for Erin's calendar as well because while I can understand the concept of it, I don't really see any of the single ornament being used. I hope these review crew episodes don't continue to be a growing point of stress for the gang. Maybe if some of these tasks are starting to get a bit out of hand, I'd personally prefer a simpler concept so that everyone can accomplish them easily and have a good time!

Holy cow, congratulations Jemma and Adal!! You two are going to make wonderful parents. My one piece of dad advice: after having a child, all movies and TV shows in which a kid was hurt, neglected, etc. became unwatchable because of how they hit me emotionally. So if you have any dark movies or TV shows on your list, get through them now!

personally I way prefer the review crews where the gang has to go somewhere or do an activity over just watching or listening to something. Even if not everyone does the activity, i’m equally as entertained to hear whatever loophole they made up. will happily listen to anything u guys do tho! congrats to Dadal and jemMa

Oh wow congrats! Exciting stuff. Books: I've not read lonesome dove, but in the off chance you've not read Austen Pride and Prejudice is a great intro and hilarious. Once you get the rhythm of her language it's amazing. Persuasion is my fave, tho.

congratulations to Adal and Jemma!!! i gasped out loud hearing it, how exciting for you all!! that being said for me this was possibly the second worst review crew ever in terms of entertainment value from the review taking place (1st place is gravity falls godbless). i don’t pay my hard earned money to listen to JPC poorly describe a spreadsheet. Erin was bringing exactly what i wanted with that title and i wish the whole episode was her talking about christmas crafts

Wow I guess I’ve never known of an advent calendar? Had to look it up when they started talking, I think if I’ve ever heard “advent calendar” in media or in person but assumed it was a boring office job thing like a schedule of meetings. Never did any form of this as a kid and I don’t know anyone who has, crazy I’ve gone this long never seeing one or doing one

Adal's calender was best. Describing a spreadsheet via audio is boring but so is describing a craft I can't see. But really, the stupid/bad reviews are the best ones. I only care about good reviews for things I'm interested in. I'm interested in dumb things being taken down no matter what. I think going back to mystery/game/puzzle-based reviews would be a good idea, tho. Have any of the Crew tried Blue Prince on Steam? So excited about the baby!
