The Gentlemen
Other Stuffs:
Had a great time on my first trip to Connecticut but didn’t get as much New Haven style pizza as I was hoping. We did try Frank Pepe’s and Zuppardi’s and then I was able to make it over to Louis Lunch where they claim to have invented the hamburger.
Haven’t listened to the whole new Taylor Swift album but I did hear the song ‘Patient Zero’ because of the “sounds like she just rewrote Hadestown’s ‘Wait For Me’ controversy and let’s just say that Anais Mitchell has a strong case
I DID listen to the new Carly Rae Jepsen double album and very much prefer ‘Night’ to ‘Day’.
I’m about 300 pages into Lonesome Dove now and absolutely adore it
Visited two stellar coffee shops worth rec’ing for those in the areas. 1. Turn Back Time Records & Coffee in Chicago and 2. Industry Coffee right outside Pittsburgh
Speaking of Chicago; my sister Sadieh is in a new play opening this month at Steppenwolf Theater titled ‘Adirondack Chair Circle’ which you should check out if you’re in town
Love,
Dadal
FROM JPC:
Hey Riddiots -
Great news for all you ad-free fiends. The entire back catalog is now available ad-free at the Review Crew tier. If you see any issues or discrepancies with the feed (wrong episode file, wrong posted date, missing formatting, etc.) please ping me on Discord and I'll try to sort it out. If you listen ad-free, we'd also still appreciate it if you could follow/subscribe to the regular feed and keep on automatic downloads. It helps our numbers, keeps our network happy, and ultimately helps more people find the show. And you'd be doing me, JPC, a very big favor. Happy listening!
I actually watched a bunch of shit in September which is very abnormal for me. Reacher season 4 was a complete bust. Just a rough watch all the way through. The book it was based on was very bad, but the show was even worse. The character of Reacher barely has anything to it and the show writers still managed to mess it up. Contrast that to the show Neagley, which is a Reacher spin-off. I ended up liking it way more. Maybe it's because there is barely any source material to be beholden too? Also really enjoying Lanterns and I'm excited to see how the finale shakes out. Episode 6 was my favorite of the season so far, so I'm eagerly anticipating the finale.
I also just finished re-reading 8 Witcher books and the very last one that I'd never read before. In general, I loved them all. Just great pulpy shlock. I was a little disappointed that Crossroads of Ravens is a young-Geralt story. Doing a prequel as the 9th book is never my favorite move, but I ended up enjoying it. Geralt is truly the Reacher of his reality. And no, I won't explain that. The Witcher 3 re-master drops at the very end of September and I haven't played it yet, but you can expect me to be raving about it next month.
Hope you all are doing well!
