I feel like the trouble with this matchup is that, done right, the Jesus line can be the most heartbreaking and piercing line, but it’s SOOOO easy to fuck up and ruin the vibe with. But the thing about the Judas line is that it ALWAYS 100% of the time slaps. And that’s why it MUST be Judas. They picked correctly imo

Maybe I was confusing him for someone else, yeah... But I also don't know for sure... I know who Bill Burr is. I think it must just be one of those weird cases of being on the edge of a certain pop culture subgroup, and hearing references to a certain personality without ever being fully exposed or looking any deeper myself. For some reason, if you asked me a couple days ago who Bo Burnham was, my best effort would've been me basically describing "Brian Regan with a twist of John Mulaney thrown in." To clarify, I'm turning 40 in August, so the "42 year old comedian" comment wasn't a jab, just an extremely generalized classification. I'm mostly just surprised (or maybe a little self-conscious about my age?) that he hasn't crossed over into my own personal zeitgeist. Especially considering the clips Casey shared feel like they're right up my alley... I feel like someone who heard the "Drinking out of cups" clip for the first time 20 years ago without knowing who Dan Deacon or Liam Lynch are.

Glad that appreciation for Jesus Christ Superstar continues....that album arrived my house in 1970 when I was 7 years old. By age 9, I had it memorized.
