Chapter 24: The Ruin of Jingliu (Patreon)

This maintenance platform was a good two or three stories high above the deck below, and the Cloud Knights down there didn't notice the commotion on the platform.
A few Borisin, however, twitched their noses and subconsciously glanced at the high platform, but their view was blocked by the railing, so they couldn't see anything. Still, sensing the familiar scent in their nostrils, they paid it no mind.
Victor leaned down...
If Victor hadn't wanted to toy with her a bit longer, he would have launched his attack on the spot.
Victor moved close to Jingliu's ear and said softly:
"At my command, your subordinates will be torn to pieces."
Jingliu's constantly struggling body instantly froze.
"What do you want!"
She demanded in a low voice, her tone suppressing a rage that was like a volcano on the verge of erupting.
Victor wasn't about to indulge her. He raised his palm and brought it down heavily on the spot.
"You!?"
Jingliu whipped her head around to glare at him.
But Victor, like a pervert, brought his palm to his nose and sniffed it.
Jingliu's face instantly turned pale, then livid.
Just a second before she erupted.
"You wouldn't want your subordinates to all be executed, would you?"
Victor's threat was like a basin of ice water dousing her fury.
"..."
"As long as you surrender and obediently become my slave girl, I guarantee they'll be fine."
"That's impossible!"
Jingliu refused without hesitation. With her pride as a swordswoman and a Cloud Knight, she could not possibly surrender.
Besides, she was facing a beast with no credibility whatsoever.
"Very good. I admire your backbone. I just wonder if their families will be as understanding."
A cruel smile appeared on Victor's face.
With a sudden burst of strength, he slammed Jingliu against the railing, grabbing the back of her head with his other hand and forcing her to look down.
Victor then let out a strange, low growl.
Below, a Borisin who received the order immediately dragged one person out from among the captured Cloud Knights.
Amid the curses of the Cloud Knights, the Borisin grinned cruelly, then with a sudden, violent pull, tore off that Cloud Knight's arms.
Blood and screams echoed throughout the ship's cabin.
Jingliu's eyes shot wide open. She trembled all over, the color draining from her face in an instant.
She could accept dying in battle alongside her Cloud Knights, for from the day they set out on the expedition, they had all put thoughts of life and death aside.
But she could not accept her subordinates being brutally tortured and killed.
"Stop."
Just as the Borisin was about to rip off the Cloud Knight's legs, Victor heard a slightly hoarse voice beside him.
A triumphant glint flashed in Victor's eyes. He knew he had succeeded.
Victor immediately let out a low growl, ordering his subordinate to stop.
The subordinate reluctantly ceased his actions and threw the Cloud Knight back into the crowd.
Jingliu let out a long sigh of relief. Xianzhou natives, blessed by Abundance, possessed incredibly resilient life force. Even a severed head could be reattached; mere dismemberment was a minor injury.
Jingliu's expression suddenly stiffened...
"W-Wait! Here!? Don't!"
Hearing Jingliu's protest, Victor snorted.
"Hmph! You are my slave girl. You have no right to refuse. I'll do it wherever I please!"
...
What followed was the mutated wolf poison that began to emanate from his body.
The wolf poison emitted by ordinary Borisin could only amplify an enemy's fear. Victor's was far more terrifying; not only could it amplify fear, but it could also heighten an enemy's senses.
For example, a small cut on the skin would feel like the excruciating pain of a severed hand or leg.
This ability was invincible on the battlefield.
Unless one was born without a sense of pain, the intense agony would cause one's movements to falter. This was a massive advantage in close-quarters combat, where a momentary mistake could mean the difference between life and death.
Of course, as friends who often play adult games would know, this ability is also a god-tier skill in certain... indescribable areas.
The Xianzhou Alliance and the Borisin were old adversaries and were always on guard against the wolf poison.
Before engaging the Borisin in battle, the Cloud Knights would distribute medicinal pills to suppress the wolf poison.
As a top-tier master capable of contending for the title of Luofu Sword Champion, Jingliu would normally be able to resist the poison's corrosion even without taking the pill.
Unfortunately, she had been locked in a fierce battle with Victor for five days and five nights and was already utterly exhausted. Now, she couldn't even resist the wolf poison.
The wolf poison continuously seeped into Jingliu's body through her skin.
Jingliu's snow-white skin was silently tinged with a faint blush.
At the same time, her body temperature began to rise uncontrollably, and in a short while, beads of sweat formed on her skin.
Victor had no intention of showing tenderness to the fair lady.
At first, Jingliu only felt pain, but gradually, she discovered a strange fire igniting deep within her heart and spreading throughout her entire body.
The pain slowly subsided, while a pleasurable sensation that terrified her slowly intensified.
To fight against the fire burning within her, Jingliu could only grit her teeth.
The cunning Victor soon noticed her unusual state.
A teasing smile appeared on his face, and his movements gradually became gentler.
It was then that Victor noticed Jingliu's skin was now slick with sweat, making it incredibly moist and smooth.
