Masami Hirota took a deep drag on her cigarette.

Then she flicked the butt to the ground and ground it out under her heel.

She raised her eyes and stared coldly at Gin.

"There was no need to kill them too."

Gin flashed a smile that showed his canines, but his eyes were ice-cold.

"You should know better than anyone."

"This is how the Black Organization has always done things."

Just then, Vodka climbed out of the Porsche's driver's seat.

He walked over with heavy steps, his voice gruff.

"You've made a mess this big. If we don't clean it up thoroughly, how are we supposed to keep the Black Organization out of it?"

As he spoke, he stepped up to the cases of gold bars and hefted one in his hand.

"Heh. The weight of wealth."

Akemi Miyano whipped out her gun and aimed it straight at Vodka.

"Put it down."

"As agreed, I want to see my sister."

"You said that once we got the money, you'd let Shiho leave the Black Organization!"

Gin snorted.

"I'm afraid that's not going to happen."

"Your sister is one of the few brains the Black Organization has."

"We still need her services."

Akemi's finger clamped down on the trigger, her knuckles white.

"So you were lying to me from the very beginning..."

Gin raised his own gun, the smile on his face turning colder.

"Hmph. This is your last chance."

"Tell me where Shuichi Akai is."

"Maybe I'll let you keep your life."

Akemi's delicate brows knit together, her eyes full of bitterness and resolve.

"If that's how it is..."

"Then don't even think about taking this money with you!"

Gin stared at her like she was already a dead woman.

"I'm telling you."

"This is your last chance."

BANG—

The gunshot exploded.

A spray of blood flew.

But the bullet missed anything vital.

Akemi's shoulder jerked. Before she could even register what had happened, a figure slammed into her and knocked her down.

The two of them rolled together behind a cargo crate to one side.

"Who?!"

Gin's pupils contracted, and he immediately fired round after round in that direction.

But he was a step too late.

"Freeze!"

Another voice suddenly rang out behind him.

At the same time, the buzzing of a drone sounded overhead.

A black-haired girl stood with both hands on her gun, her aim steady on Gin.

"Hmph."

"More of you pesky rats."

Gin turned slowly, his gaze locking onto the girl like a blade.

Takina Inoue didn't waste words. She pulled the trigger at once.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three rounds in rapid succession.

Gin sidestepped, snatching up a money case to block the line of fire.

One bullet still grazed his face, leaving a thin line of blood.

The killing intent in his eyes deepened.

Takina held her aim without a tremor, steady to a frightening degree.

"It's you, isn't it?"

"The smugglers behind that shipment of weapons."

She had originally belonged to the DA's special assault unit.

While investigating a large-scale arms smuggling case, she had laid down heavy fire with a PKM general-purpose machine gun and saved a comrade in the process.

Because of that incident, she had been reassigned to [Café LycoReco].

But she had always wanted to earn merit and return to the DA.

So she was deeply fixated on any lead tied to those weapons.

She had followed the trail all the way here, and thanks to a lucky break in Chigusa's pursuit on the other end, she had run into Gin.

Facing the killing intent radiating from Gin, so thick it was almost solid, Takina didn't even blink.

Her muzzle stayed trained on the center of his forehead.

Gin raised his gun with a cold laugh.

"Chasing me all by yourself."

"Should I call you naive, or just stupid?"

Takina's face was blank.

"Even if there are two of you, it won't help."

"I won't let you walk away."

"From the moment my gun locked onto you, you couldn't escape anymore."

"Is that so?"

The corners of Gin's mouth stretched into a chilling smile.

"Let me tell you something."

"Without ten shooters of your caliber, you've got no business trying to catch me."

"You're too naive, brat."

In the next instant, both of them pulled the trigger.

The bullets tore through the air and collided head-on in midair.

Sparks burst out like steel flowers blooming in the dark.

Bang bang bang bang—

As if by agreement, the two kept firing.

Every bullet followed almost exactly the same path and collided with the other's.

The air filled with the smell of scorched metal and flying fragments.

Sparks scattered everywhere.

Explosive cracks filled their ears.

Until two sharp clicks sounded at the same time.

Both pistols ran dry together.

Out of ammo.

Takina reached into her jacket almost on instinct and darted toward the iron gate on one side.

But she hadn't noticed that Vodka had already seized the opening and raised his gun at her.

"A brat is still a brat."

"Die!"

"Wait up, Taaakina, you idiot!!!"

A familiar, frantic shout suddenly cut in.

Bang bang bang bang—

Chigusa charged in at a speed the eye could barely follow.

She stayed low, a streak skimming along the ground, her Colt M1911-style pistol loaded with rubber bullets firing in bursts.

The rounds hit Vodka's wrist with pinpoint accuracy.

His muzzle jerked off target.

But in that brief instant, Gin had already finished reloading.

He raised his gun and fired seven shots in rapid succession at Chigusa, who had just burst onto the scene.

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

The bullets whistled past her ear, her chest, the bend of her knee, her waist.

Her movement traced an uncanny S-shaped zigzag.

In that tiny stretch of distance, she dodged every single bullet.

For the first time, the look in Gin's eyes truly changed.

Shock.

He watched helplessly as the blonde girl closed in on him, the Colt almost pressed against his chest.

Point-blank fire.

Bang bang bang bang—

Round after round of rubber bullets slammed into his chest.

The impact sent Gin sliding back twenty centimeters, his body reeling, and he nearly fell flat on his back.

Vodka panicked.

"Boss!"

But before he could do anything more, Takina's reloaded pistol opened fire again.

Bang bang bang bang—

Gin rolled and ducked behind a cargo crate, clutching his chest and breathing hard.

Chigusa hurriedly shouted.

"Takina-chan, you can't use real bullets!"

But the first one to flare up wasn't Takina.

It was Gin, who had just caught his breath.

Clutching his chest, he leaned out from behind the crate and glared at Chigusa, his eyes looking ready to devour her.
