Well, the title says it all, really. After reviewing Light of my Life, Steam's declined to sell the title on their store, and has removed the store page there effective immediately. Oh well, I was hoping it'd help me make an extra buck on the side, but it seems it was not meant to be.

On the up side, Light of my life now has achievements, and even if they don't hook up to a back-end, they still work fine within the game. And it received a good once over for some parts in the earlier chapter that had it coming for a long time, so it's not all wasted time.

Too bad, perhaps some other time and some other platform. For now it's back to business as usual, starting with stripping out the Steam integration (minimal effort since ren'py's got a very straight forward Steam UI integration, and apart from the achievements, there's nothing to integrate), and get rid of the links to the platform, and then get a final, final build for chapter 7 out the door.

That sucks, would have been great exposure and of course a boost for you. As you say though... ever onward.

Blkcrow820

Damn, that sucks. Sorry Naughty.

Sirius

Too hot for Steam

Maruad

Did they give an explanation?

Naughty Road

Nah, they don't offer much in the ways of explanations. could be Sierra (short, slender build) is a grey area. Apparently Mist got refused by Steam for a very similar character. It's pretty weird to me how anyone'd consider her grey area though, considering I based her physique on that of a woman I know who's about my own age.

Nic

Oh dear. I'm sorry to hear that unfortunate news.

Silent Observer

IMO, there's something shady about "We won't tell you why and you never get another chance with this game." It's like YouTube's "Community Guidelines" strikes all over again. "We're going to hold you to an unpublished policy, and one strike and you're out."

Troy

What the heck, I mean, she works Monday through Friday in a corporate environment, you'd think that alone would... meh. Hope you fare better on GoG perhaps.

To me - not a great loss. I signed up for steam several years ago because I bought a videogame (came with a disc to install...but that just sent me to Steam to download). I played it but it was so glitchy that I signed out, cancelled my subscription and deleted Steam from my computer. Since then, I receive an e-mail notice (at least once a week) that someone has tried to hack my Steam account. Often the e-mails are in a foreign language. So I wouldn't have played your fantastic game on Steam anyway.

Totes Not Thea

Sorry, but that's bullshit. As in the reason is bullshit. (Theirs, not yours!)

That's funny cause steam is literally selling ero loli games but somehow this is to much. Sucks but is what it is I heard GOG is in the market could be up for consideration.

TheKid

Sucks that they didn't accept but their loss

BigTop

Meh, the game is good where it is. I am an avid Steam gamer for big title FPS and such. Itch and Patreon for my niche interests.
