The cliff-hanger to episode 2 gave me a phobia of maggots that has remained with me ever since!

I was 10 years old when it was first broadcast in 1973. The Green Death is best described as an ecological horror tale with a message. The maggots are brilliantly realised using a combination of real maggots, convincing practice using condoms and other things! Even my Mum thought this was one of the scariest stories. Mainly because it was well made.
