This really showed us just how far Chi Cheng and Suo Wei would go for each other.

No my original comment disappeared 👻. Damn it, I’ll try to remember what I was saying 🤣😭 The whole jail scene completely broke me 😭💔 they are such great actors! Plus the song alongside their scene my god😭 I’M SORRY. The lyrics are portraying their life/story of how they got together. It started off as a revenge plan lyrics I am a soul for sale Walking inside a maze I am a hidden trail Lost in myself for days [verse two] It's not the life I choose This is the story I drew It’s not the game I play This is the price I pay

The jail scene broke me too but we can see that :(

I'm sorry I'm sorry For what I’ve done I'm sorry I'm sorry For what I've done ~Oh x3 [verse 3] Plans I had all fell through The moment that I saw you Here we go 'round again Swept up in your wild wind [verse 4] This is the final stand Beating me down again All my defenses fail Everything fades away [Chorus] I'm sorry I'm sorry For what I've done

Dumb internet is playing games with me tonight 😡😭🤣 I’m struggling to get what I’m trying to say 🤣 So what I’m trying to say is the lyrics “it’s not the game I play” so at the beginning it was a game/revenge plan that turned into more “it’s not the price I pay” literally double meaning first 💰then all his pride/ego/walls he is completely bare layed out in front of him in multiple ways.

For me, this episode was a necessity because Chi Cheng still needed his redemption arc. Before he was with Suo Wei, Cheng did illegal and inhumane things, like causing the car accident. These things couldn't go unpunished in order to ensure a satisfying conclusion to the story. In other BLs, it often annoys me that people aren't held accountable for their criminal actions in the end. Cheng had to suffer a little, and Suo Wei had to work a little for the love of his life, so that we could send the two of them into their happy ending with a good feeling. 🧑🏻‍❤️‍💋‍🧑

Nevertheless, I cried into my meal with Chi Cheng. Tian Xuning is INTENSE. Omg.

The jail visit moment when Chi Cheng tells him ‘I hate you’ is so heartbreaking, just like the very last scene when he eats and cries in his cell. He is indeed paying for the bad things he did in the past, that’s fair, but on top of that, it is the first time he is powerless and it must feel terrible for him. And to make things worst, he sees WSW sacrificing his beloved parents’ house. Chi Cheng knows how much it meant and he hates himself for putting WSW in a situation where he felt he had to do that. Their acting really shines through in this last part of the episode.

Absolutely agree with everything you said. It broke my heart too 😭
