I actually like Dean as a character, i feel like he's quite complex, however it also feels like the fandom loves to baby him. I've seen multiple people calling out Moths behavior (and i do agree with these criticisms) but as soon as someone points out any of Dean's flaws the reaction is "why are you hating on him 🥺". It can get quite frustrating lol. Imo it's the flaws (and how they work through them) that make both characters so interesting. Moth can be quite judgy, cold and self-absorbed. Dean is constantly self sabotaging, has a bit of an anger issue and is afraid of commitment. Both are awful at communication. That's what makes it so juicy tho!

exactly right. I think both characters are very flawed
