On post-woke strategies.

Ryan Z is back on, talking to Alex and George about the US Democrats' attempt to respond to Trump/MAGA.

In association with Damage magazine.

Can the Democrats escape the shadow of woke?

Is Big Woke dying? Everywhere?

Who are the groups and think-tanks pushing for a reorientation, and what are they proposing?

Will the Dems adapt to Trump’s challenge or pretend nothing is happening?

We then take listener questions and comments on transport infrastructure, left-wing gatekeeping, and the crisis in education everywhere, high and low.

It's gotta be a sign of something that you can get "Where Wokeness Went Wrong" into the NY Review of Books: https://www.nybooks.com/articles/2025/12/04/where-wokeness-went-wrong-desire-and-fate-rieff/ That said, the problem for institutionalized Post-Woke in the Democratic Party is that much of the Democratic-aligned para-party in civil society is waaaaaaaaay woker than the actual Party ever was, and cannot be disciplined effectively in time for the electoral cycle.

MY point of comparison to 9/11 wasn’t that the effects of Kirk’s assassination were much more political/policy than publically driven. Peolle didn’t care (which is different from 9/11), but similar to 9/11 it was used as justification for new oversteps in government policy

I felt a little optimism about Dan Osborn's campaign, but his numbers need to be seen in context: there was no Democrat running. He was the de facto Democratic candidate.
