Syriza lost the last Greek elections after 4 1/2 years in power. What happened to the party that for a time represented the European radical left's hopes? Did it achieve anything in power? Many talk about Tspiras' "betrayal" - is that the right way to look at it? And what are the wider consequences of this defeat - is time up for this wave of "left populists"?

I agree that the left in the UK is not looking good at the moment and maybe we (certainly me) share some blame for that in not engaging more in Labour politics. Here is a thought: Should not all those people who have EU Euphoria (the EU flag waving brigade) be arguing that the UK should not only remain but also join the Euro. If they love the EU so much then why should the UK be separate in this respect? All their fellow Europeans that they claim to love so much have this wonderfully liberating currency imposed on them and this is a key part of the EU.

An episode on party structure and the organisation of some populist movements as platforms would be nice. But I feel like this may have already been discussed in an earlier episode?
